I'd not recommend using alloy nipples on a first time wheelbuild. In fact I'm not sure they're a good idea at all unless your racing.
I found out from Dogsballs, about the dodgey nature of using alloy nipples. After I had already used them to lace my wheels, but luckily before I'd got around to doing any tensioning.
Have been uber careful (1/4 turn per spoke destress, 1/4 turn per spoke destress etc..). Its took feckin ages to get them up to decent tension, but they seem to be holding up well.
