Hey guys i'm from Bournemouth, just getting into fixies and ss bikes, looking to build one for my mere student budget of £200, which i hope is possible. Any recommendations as to where to look? Hope to be out soon.
hello, keepwatching here--we should get out next weekend. presuming you have some wheels already? should be able to get you sorted anyway.

I think if people are interested we can organise a ride next weekend.
Probably easiest for Bournemouth People to meet Pifko in Bournemouth and People from Poole to meet me down the quay.

Off topic - I was browsing hitchhiking tips last night and I came across a ride from Poole to Romania.

right so this weekend,
one idea is to do the Lulworth loop from Poole/Bournemouth, includes a mild hill, povington 56-191m about 50 miles round trip.
or Im liking the idea of bulbarrow 97-274 which is biggest in county, we could go via shitterton, crincombe bottom, again 50 miles ish.
What are people up for? likely to play it by weather- clear-- we go either morning. -

Sat looks like it may be crap. Sunday will most likely be the best day to go. I'll be geared I think.

Had fun on the way home, tonight I had a bunch of chavs in renault clio behind me giving me shit.
After calling them a bunch of wankers .... I had 4 chavvies get out of the car.... I prompted get off the bike and walk up to the biggest fat chavvy bastard, I square the fucker up (I had some beers give me the confidence) and tell him if he wants some he has got some ... this was probably not the best idea under a fly-over with not a soul about. Luckily for me a copper car cruises by and they promptly fuck off with me disapearing up a side alley.
Close Call..... WHAT A BUTCH OF CUNTS.
I was well up for some violence after that but I had a orange squash instead when I got home.
Had a similar incident happen to me (i posted my experience a last week). So i know exactly how you felt.

full carbon specialised allez retro bike available. portman street boscombe second hand emporium.
theres pics of same type on the bay, asking £400, 27"this one has gp4 mavic tubulars, mavic front, campy rear hub, campy 80's mechs,lo pro bars,80's dura ace stem, crankset.nice bike for conversion, hubs are sweet, no play in bb, hs.
got your carbon name all over it pifko..........
-

yeah exactly like that one- i just didnt wanna link to the bay on here.
its not the lightest of bikes, could be cos the carbon tech at the time was early, and the thickness of the tubes is massive compared to them ones that ya see in shops now that look like they would snap on ya. also it obviously wasnt well recieved at the time because they er, discontinued it.
Just reckon that with some graphite dura ace or similar componentry would be a good looking man machine.
told the guy that he would have difficulty flogging it because of the tubs. -

picked up the I.O.W cycling festival guide today at a shop.
Looks like there will be millions of people on 'bikes' there,
The round tripper 70 miler is officially on 20th September, this time its a B.H.F registered ride £5 run, sure it would be possible to join it easily.
some other stuff like hill races going on:-

85 k today boys, good effort, for you heres a mini blog of the ride:-
first considerable climb after starting
sometimes you gotta moooooooooove
passing Corfe Castle
and looking over to Ballard point and Old Harrys from Swanage
the wind was adverse from the west outward, but the 50-55 km speeds on way back were worth every bit.
bring on next one
