  • No problem. Seriously was trying to be helpful. PM me if you want any help as I have noticed you are struggling with buying a frame/what to do with it etc.

  • Everybody, you can post frames to me in Birmingham.

I can prep your frame and get it done to a high standard, any RAL/BS colours and a few special ones or light sparkles. Decent price, may work out cheaper than armourtex even with postage.

    Pm me for details,

  • It's a very high quality finish and it's really shiny, the gloss and lacquer gleams as was said above pop in and have a chat, they are good peoples.

    Sorry phone pic quality.

Doesn't do it justice at all, was trying to catch the sunlight on it. Seroiusly good value, good quality and very shiny.

Can you remember what colour this was?

  • Work is a fucker at the moment, so my chances of getting to the arse end of the world (apologies to everyone who lives near armourtex) are somewhere between slim and nil...

I have two frames I need to get there, then back (after they're done, ideally).

Anyone here wanna do some (cheap) courier-ing of frames/forks? I'm in Clapham...

    Thanks, FJ

  • Whereabouts in Clapham are you?

The missus lives in battersea, and I'm out east so it wouldn't be much of a detour...

  • I live by Battersea park, and am taking some frames up on Monday, prob get back on the Friday - PM me

  • What colours are people getting?

I may want in on the action.

    Colour dependent, of course.

Sod that I'm in for a lucky dip.

  • Yep, it's defo 7am - 5pm - dropped my frame off there this a.m.

    Top blokes, v. helpful.

  • Do you have to book your frame in?
And are they happy for you to call and check if they have the colour you want before dropping off frames for powder coat?

  • Give them a call and find out. They are more likely to know than people on here.

  • Just wondered if I need to remove the top and bottom bits of the head set and crown race that are pressed into the frame, will they mask this and will they survive being heated up to 400 degrees to strip the paint?

Going for ral 5015, as it's pretty similar to the original colour.

    Thanks

    Jazzy

  • First thing first my dear chap, ould you not even post that in one of the Armourtex topic??

Secondly, yes, the frame need to be completely stripped, and no they won't do it, get it removed.

  • He's starting a new thread for his every move.

  • This thread has the balls.

  • what kind of balls..?

  • Eurgh.

  • or mmm...bacon

  • Do they come in waves?

A bunch of new folk come on and they are all about posting silly questions without doing some research first, then they all catch on and the next wave of new kids DO utfs, but they don't notice when things have been posted.

Can we study this so that we can predict the patterns?
How about a warning message before anyone in the nursery is allowed to post?

"Wait! Make sure you really want to send this comment. Do you think this is something that someone else might have already asked multiple times? If so, don't post about it again or you will have an angry deaf bob jackson enthusiast grumbling at you.
Have you checked the date on the thread your posting to? If your inquiring about something that was offered for sale more than six months ago, you might want to wait and send a PM (when you are out of the nursery) addressing the fact that you doubt the seller has it anymore, but you thought it was worth a go anyways. Do this or you will have a cranky American woman taking the piss out of you.
If you are certain that the post you are about to submit will not cause people to create tags about you or ridicule you unduly, then post away!"

    plus one

  • That's it.

I'm petitioning Velocio to make it an official warning message.

  • That's it.

I'm petitioning Velocio to make it an official warning message.

    I second this.
An introductory e-mail with. **WARNING **at the top would be good.

  • Sorry guys, for the post per move, I just thought it would be easier this way, so they have to be completely removed, no little chrome bits on there?

  • if you use the search function you will find many topics on armourtex and powdercoating covering the same question you have asked. yes you have to remove all parts, armourtex can mask parts but although they are not professionals at it, they will do their best for you. the best thing to do is to call before you go there.

  • Don't get RAL 5015, one of the powders used to mix the colour is tainted and it may cause your frame to weaken and collapse.

  • don't post about it again or you will have an angry deaf bob jackson enthusiast grumbling at you.

    hahaha!
