That was fun!
Using flat pedals, fixed with 2 brakes, 30psi in 2 inch MTB tyres.
I got overtaken on Fuxbridge Road - but he fell. ha! -

Hahaha post of the day!*
*I've quite clearly gone mad but I'm laughing my arse off.. can visualise that nicely.. his victory celebrations cut short by him skidding on his arse along fUxbridge. hahahaha

He's a colleague and an employee. We don't discuss penis size with employees. Not really part of the job ;o)
Why not? It's an essential question when interviewing male prospective employees. They might lie and quote a figure greater than mine.

So did any of you rock hard couriers go into work then? I told you it was foolhardy in these conditions! There's no way I'm going to go and ride around in this all day. I mean that in two senses:
1) There's no way I would attempt it
2) There's no way I would succeed if I did attempt it. I'd inevitably fall off, hurt myself and end up stuck in central London with no easy way of getting home.I fell off on some ice in that really cold snap at the start of January and had to take two days off work because my knee was fucked, there's no way I'm going to go cycling when ice is the major component of the road surface!
is that snow way ?

Don't get stranded at work!
There's only so long you can survive on vending machine food.
Once the Nobby Nuts and Green and Black are finished I'm gonna curl up and wait to die. -

That was not fun! I'm surprised how patchy the roads are where there appears to be a flow of cars. Where they've gouged out a slush channel is fine but every so often they just haven't cut through leaving you with an inch of hard packed snow, mostly around junctions, how helpfull :)
I also found the vehicles that were about giving less space than normal. It's tricky of course because all vehicles are more constrained in the road space they have available to them.
Anyway, really fucking glad I brought my mtb tyres in with me, 25mm slicks was horrid, hopefully homeward bound wont be so scary. -

made it to work with only three falls and the longest skid ever.

I was getting from Victoria to Euston last night on my way back up to Liverpool just as it was starting to get heavy. Almost rode straight into the back of a taxi because I couldn't see anything. Total fucking white-out!
It took me less time to go from Purely-Liverpool then it did for my parents to go from Purley-Romford. It took them 3 hours to travel 15 miles. My dad said at one point his car was just drifting down the road, no inputs from him whatsoever would change the direction or speed.

I rode yesterday night with 28s. Funny and a bit scary, had to wear ski goggles and looked like a yeti. Some guy in my street clearly did not feel like going for a spin:

Awesome ride this morning. Brakes are useless btw. Coming up Wardour Street fixed was like having a freewheel. I stopped pedalling and nothing happened, just kept going with the back wheel locked, until I fell over.
Does anyone reckon we should start a 'Snow Day Photos' thread?
