  • Brendan, are these teasers?

  • Guys, can you post reports of all the London games that you played in? I can clean them up for grammar and spelling, and then get Ray to repost to the london polo blog with pics. No rush, but with pics they will look great on the blog.

  • hops: "we should set her up with aidan"

    me: "is she pretty?"

hops: "not really, and she's ten years older than him too"

    cue hilarity.

  • I'll live! ;-)

  • It is impossible to condense such an amazing trip down into a single post, and to do so without spouting a long love letter to each and every one of you. For now, just the outward journey: on the ferry we drank or tried to sleep, and at four in the morning we rolled through Dieppe, then south out of town on the road to Rouen. We rode in pairs or three abreast, sharing quiet conversations or awe at the perfection of the night - the whir of so many chains across teeth, the full moon misting in the trees on the Western ridge, the river turned mercury in the light. We helped each other up the climbs, closing the gaps, taking turns at the front in the wind. The boulangerie in Bosc-le-Hard was the perfect breakfast, fuelling us for a final 15km stint. When Bill broke spokes on a long descent Hassan and Aidan were a fantastic support and reconnaissance team, and everybody did their bit to keep us rolling on.

I will never forget spinning down into Rouen, to be met by this polo paradise.

and then hitting a huge pothole and losing my chain!

The three days that followed confirmed that London Bike Polo is fuelled by some of the funniest, most generous and talented people I have ever met. Big love to you all!

  • Thanks for sharing your stories, i'm having a good laugh just reading about it all. On Brendans point about the London crew, reading about this whole trip makes me happy i know you and that when i have a chance to hang out with you all i know its gonna be a good time.

Just hope you peeps kept it real, Maximum Damage Minimum Scandal.

Oh and while you were gone Me and Ray got married and he is now pregnant with our own little polo monster...

  • So what was the final score between BAD and the SS?

I hope it was like 5-0 or something...
    ;)

    Way to go you lot!

  • the final was 5-1. To be fair they pretty much ran circles around us, we were more competitive in the earlier game when we had fresher legs.

You'll get a chance to play them as they'll be in manchester and london over the next two weeks

  • great photos Agata, especially of the Malletov and FFF game!
