  • ye but is the BJ fluted then ? never noticed that before on BJ's, so is this a special thing on BLB BJ's ?

I did mentioned it in the first place, this BLB Bob Jackson have Paul trackend, flat crowned fork and fluted seat tube, those three are not in the standard Bob Jackson Vigorelli (unless you ask for a custom job).

  • Totally overlooked your opening post tbh.
with the extra 3 Brucy Bonuses £475 seems suddenly more appetising.
It's also worth mentioning that BJ don't build their track bikes entirely out of the tubing stated on the S.tube sticker,
but that goes for most steel bikes.

  • it's the fluted seat tube, allowed the wheel to be move further in.

Oh yeah, I didn't notice that. Very nice :)

  • Am I the only one that doesnt like the appearance of Paul ends?

  • Am I the only one that doesnt like the appearance of Pauls end?

    Homophobe.

  • Damn... walked into that. You have a PM Smallfurry.

  • Saw this version of the BJ track frame on a US site, a while back. Personally, I'd love to have those track ends. The dimpling on the seat tube is quite subtle compared to the example above.

  • lol@ the prices of stuff this year ffs..
it's just a old fashioned frame with crap tensioners on the dropouts that costs an arm and a leg that some hipster will build up, then lock it up in Hackney where someone will steal it and then some hipster will buy it, the cycle continues until we all puke on God's cock.

    +1

ed, suprised you didn't mention the even shitter h+ rims

  • I really hate pauls dropouts on track frames, they just look wrong. Don't really see any need for them either its not that hard to tension a chain without them. I do like the fork crown though!

  • +1

ed, suprised you didn't mention the even shitter h+ rims

ah that rims isn't so bad, but I only going to use it for the front.

  • It's also worth mentioning that BJ don't build their track bikes entirely out of the tubing stated on the S.tube sticker,
but that goes for most steel bikes.

    Why is that worth mentioning?

    ;-)

  • Some really good builders mix different tubing, even using Columbus here and Reynolds there etc.
It's not a cheapskate option... it's because they know their shit.

  • Obviously the Paul track end are not entirely made of 631!

  • ...and why aren't the seatstays 1" 631 ???

    FAKE!

    ;-)

  • lovely bike, shit colab

  • Supply me with a cloth and a hammer and I'll do it on your frame for free.

  • these will sell like hotcakes in europe and the US, especially with the BLB logo...

supply and demand, innit. Personally I love the mods, don't like the logo, and think that £475 is priced right given that the pound just devalued 30%. Get used to it people, everything is going to be much more expensive for the next 2-3 years.

  • i like the whole thing (BLB logo aside). Think it's a definite improvement to the standard vigorelli. Plus i love the paul track ends!

  • Fred, I think most people feel that £475 is cheap for a frame like that.

  • ah yes you're right !

  • lovely bike, shit colab

Succinct conclusion to this thread IMO.

  • spoken to BLB about it - yes, the geometry is different to the standard Vigorelli, more track-specific.

  • Heh! More 'track specific' than a frame named after the world famous Vigorelli velodrome in Milan. Go figure.

  • "some hipster's on the phone asking about the BJ frames what do i say?"
"just tell them some shit so we can fleece them for the most money"
"how about more track specific, then we can charge the most"
    "yeah, suppose that'll do"
"Hi Ed, yeah it more track specific. Can i get your credit card details, i'll tell you the price later"
