Christopher Tolkien. Very sad news. He was an excellent editor of his father's work (that of it which remained unpublished), of which I'm a huge fan. He made a few initial mis-steps with the 'Silmarillion' but corrected these later.

I took it outside and created a hazmat tent out of a number of bin bags, taped bin bags to my hands, wore bin bag trousers, it remains the worst thing I've subjected any of my senses to. The whole fucking house stinks now. My neighbours walked past when the hazmat tent was up with this unholy smell coming from within along with me wretching. Expecting a visit from the police shortly.
