He's quite a compelling character to watch, like in that doco where he found a room in his house he'd never even been in ROCK AND ROLL

I was not a great fan of Amy and have no interest in Doherty either.
However both suffer addiction.
I always thought Russell Brand to be a tit but found this http://www.russellbrand.tv/2011/07/for-amy/ to be very touching and may explain a little about their common affliction.

I like Doherty's music, it's not amazing but then there are many worse bands out there. He is a good musician.

Hadn't you heard? He's a latter-day Byron, or something. Fancies himself as a bit of a Shelley and an Oscar Wilde as well.

Just plain false.

IYO. Just because you don't like him/his style doesn't make him bad.

He's middle class army stock, and surprisingly tall and big boned in real life.
AW was titchy and already under weight when she was just on the 'healthier' class A's and booze, and her rock habit gave her emphysema

IMO, kinda.
I understand the principals of subjectivity at work here, however what I am saying goes beyond that.
There are plenty of artists, musicians, creatives of all kinds who I don't like personally or don't like their output. This does not mean I am therefore incapable of seeing the value and skill in their work.
The fact remains that PD is not a great guitarist, a GCSE level lyricist and bad singer.

Doherty is all manner of crap, but talking about him in the context of this thread is a bit ghoulish.

Has he reached the age of 27 yet?

Would you be having this discussion if Doherty had died instead of Winehouse?
I was not even having a dig at Winehouse on a personal/personal taste level; the reaction to her death, to me, has been an example of how undiscerning people seem to be. This would be a positive trait if people were indiscriminately concerned with love, acceptance, sympathy, etc. You'd also have a definite point about me coming across as a misanthrope with no tact. But, in light of this Doherty reaction, my opinion that a lot people are contradictory, fickle, selectively repugnant and predictable has been more or less cemented.
You are so oblivious of how inconsistent your thoughts are.

FFS - you'd give an aspirin a headache.

Still not entirely sure what Hauska's trying to say. I'll go and stand outside his house and see if it comes to me.

Take a megaphone and a laptop. Steal his wi-fi and quote him from his posts at top volume, asking him to explain.
Then get back to us.
With photos.

Why not go dig up Lady Di and tell us all what horrible slag she was?

That's a valid point, isn't it? The last few pages looked like a load of people calling someone a 'scum-cunt' in the same breath as wishing them dead.
It does seem a bit inconsistent.
There also appears to be a superficially reactionary attitude towards drug use. FFS, even BlueQuinn voiced a more progressive outlook on that front recently.
I'd not expect any esteemed forumenger to start taking naughty things just because a man dressed as a bear says so, but there are many vacuous hipsterlings who would inject Windowleen if Doherty said it was the fashionable thing to do.
I also do not suggest their deaths are a massive loss to humanity, although I'm sure they would be to their families.
I think what I'm trying to say is that Doherty's contribution to humanity is way into the minus figures, whereas tynan gets into the plus points for me, mainly because of funny t-shirts and the fact that he has not injected me with any mind bending domestic cleaning products.
