Eileen Sheridan – A Tribute from the Pedal Club
The Pedal Club will not attempt its own Eileen obituary – there are so many others we are completely out gunned; even The Sun which rarely takes any interest in cycling has mentioned her passing. All the same, the club would like to mention our experience of this great lady.
Eileen formally became a Pedal Club member only relatively recently, because the club was a little slow to realise the benefit of having women members. However, she was such a frequent guest at the club from the nineteen fifties onwards that she was really de facto the first woman member.
Her sporting achievements are familiar to everyone with an interest in our sport, what will not be so obvious to those who had not met Eileen was her personal charm. It was as though she had an inexhaustible supply of fairy dust which attracted everyone around her, both men and women. It was a force so strong that it could even work down a telephone line, and was undiminished by age, so that even in her nineties she could leave a deep impression on new acquaintances.
No one can live forever, but we hoped we would never hear this news.

If you really want to blow your mind, look for his 90s era stand up. A was a very well regarded comedian before moving into acting. He was very talented.

Sad news.
Detective Munch probably appeared in more separate US tv shows than any other character: -

RIP Ammon McNeely - met him in Yosemite. Was a far out dude. I was drunk and psyched to meet him, and he wasn’t a cunt about having some pissed 21yr old Scottish bloke chewing his ear off

Just Fontaine has passed, age 89. Had absolutely no idea he was still alive, but obviously knew he was the most potent World Cup striker of all time.
Guess I can forgive him for stopping Norn Iron's seemingly inevitable 1958 World Cup victory at the quarter-final stage.
More than likely it will be the firefighter/sometime BMX rider Craig Stevens.
