Just recieved my Pre Cursa frame and it already has a couple of chips. Nothing too bad but just wondered if anyone else has found the paint to be particularly delicate?
-
• #506
yeah the paint is shit.

Also just tied to fit my FSA Impact headset and the bearings are too big. Are the Pre Cursas some kind of odd size?
-
• #508
No that's odd an impact should fit, I'm not sure if they even make one but you might have brought a 45x36 one by accident instead of the 45x45 you need?
-
• #509
Nope, mine's definitely 45X45 but I think I may need a 45x36 for the Pre Cursa.
-
• #510
Yep just had a look and i think you're right, the frameset bundle comes with the alpina headset which is 45x36

Nicely set up FXE

Practical maybe, but nice?

you could rack up some serious damp muddy country lane mileage on that! its practicality is the reason for its niceness.

Practical maybe, but nice?
I'd be interested to see a winter trainer that looks much better for similar money.

Rear mudguard could have been fitted better mind.

Can anyone tell me what seatpost that is? look a decent amount of layback on it.
-
• #518
Had a feeing you may comment about the seat position :P
-
• #519
Not sure if trolling...
If not, it's a Kuota. -
• #520
Kuota KULT I think, an old version. Their current 27.2 post has less layback than that.
-
• #521
Thank Regal, pity as it got a nice amount to suit aggressive track frame.
-
• #522
I don't know guys how much is decent amount of layback, but these have 35mm:

I'm having trouble with the pre cursa + stronglight track 2000 cranks.
After cleaning, greasing, re-fitting my cranks + chainring the spider catches the chainstay severely. Must be that I had fitted them terribly the first time. As far as I can work out my options are:
Swap my BB (stronglight JIS 107mm) to 110mm or longer. Live with shitty chainline for now (I need this bike for commuting). I don't think I can fit a spacer behind the cog because the lock ring would then not be completely on the threads. Maybe down the road I can get myself a new rear wheel/hub with a non-standard big chainline?
New cranks. Can anyone recommend me some cheapish cranks that fit on the pre cursa and give 42mm chainline?

Balls, I just got those and a 107mm bb for my Dolan p-c.
No problem.
If you'll be sprinting I'd say sub 40cm bars (i just fitted 36s and they felt awesome doing flying efforts tonight) and maybe go up a size on the frame/longer stem. You'll not be on the bike for very long so you can afford to be more stretched/less comfortable in order to be aero/activate your glutes etc.
