looks good other than saddle angle

Nearly finished my Pre Cursa build.
I want to change the saddle out (currently a very old Brooks Vitesse I tried to repair and refurbish).
Also hoping to change the forks, these were an eBay impulse buy. I should have stuck with traditional alpinas.
Other than that, I am pretty pleased.

Apologies for the shit pic.

looks a bit small for you

It's a 54 with a 100mm Stem. It's not a conventional set up I grant you. I had read that the sizing was always an inch short and wanted to try something smaller than my usual 56 / 58 so I will see how it goes I spose.

I meant cm. I am not sure why i put inch. I am super hungover.
So if its a 54, it actually measures up as a 55 c2c, or so 'they' say. That is what I meant. Sorry.
What size is yours? I think I like that middle set up best, but they are all real nice.

Thanks man. Yeah I getcha. Mine's a 54. Could do with a 56 to be honest.

I am gonna try the 54, I quite like it so far, but I reckon in the end it will give me a bad back, should be OK for my sunday best.

top setup looks best by far, the spin front wheel is too small!

I'm considering down sizing from a 60cm to a 58cm. Does anyone have a 58cm for sells? I'll do a wanted ad as well.

Thinking about building up a Dolan again, this time purely as a long distance fixed gear/road bike, with a bottle cage and spd's maybe.
I had a 52cm before, but now wondering if i could get away with a 54cm without it feeling to big? 53cm would be ideal :/
Hmmm.

Why? your Surly is perfect for that.
And no, it will be longer as your Surly got a relaxed seat tube, a 55cm (measured) top tube on the 54 Dolan is realistically 56cm.
52cm is realistically 54.5cm.

• #445
Huh, Dolan no longer have the Seta in their website anymore.

No. No it really isn't, Ed. if anything precursas come up small.

I've measured mine, which seemed to indicated a 140mm head tube and 55cm top tube, which was 130mm HT and 54cm TT before they changed their geo chart recently.

Ed has a valid point, when comparing length of top tube on frames with different seat tube angles.
-
• #450
I've measured them, with a tape measure. And the TT measurements come up shorter than published, regardless of seat angle.
Your seat tube angle argument only works if you're comparing frames with the same head angle but different seat tube angles. The precursa has a steeper head angle than many other track frames.
Here's how mine is looking now, shite picture but you get the idea...
