Went to that London Bike show today.
Dolan had the Gunmetal PC on display.
If you didn't know the price beforehand you would guess it costs way more than it does. It pissed all over some things i looked at for finish quality that aren't cheap. It does look good close up.

did it have omniums on it? got any pictures?
sounds good! -

Suginos on it, loads of clearance with them, didn't take any photos of Dolan's did get distracted by the Lotus though :)

Got some goodies in the post today, Vision track crankset fits with room to spare. The arms aren't as chunky as Omniums but they'll still fit fine I reckon.

Hi guys,
Looking to get into fixed gear riding and I've decided to go with a Dolan Pre Cursa but I'm not too sure about size. I am 186cm tall with a 90cm inseam and unsure whether to go with a 58 or 60 frame. Any tall riders out there that can let me know of their experience with the pre cursa frame?
Also this is the build I think I'm going for, let me know if you would change anything!

If short torso and arms 56/58 - 54 if you like to go real low in the drops (130mm stem).
For the relaxed boat cruiser 60.

And there is an error in the geometry table.
It's not possible to have a shorter reach on the 58 compared to 56, when the top tube is 20mm longer and with the HT ST angles unchanged between the sizes.
Either reach is wrong or the size 58 has the 74 degree HT and ST like the 60.

Regardless of how tall you are, get 165mm cranks.

And much better resell value 165 compared to 170.

@cc99v
I am 6' ish tall.
I sort of followed the chatter in here on sizing.
I went with a 56 but i don't intend to race the frame. I have a 60mm stem and riser bars on, i think i could have gone to a 58 as i will most likely only use risers, i think the longer headtube and top tube would suit me better as i use short stems.I briefly tried drops and longer stem but it was too racey for me. Part of the reason for going Dolan was frame price as a cheap way to see if i can cope with a track style frame.
Handling is fast (i have the slightly more relaxed FXE with road fork) and i just prefer being more upright..........years of mountain biking........I went matt black, discreet stick on Dolan logos on fork and headtube, easy peel off.
After seeing the coloured PC frames, i reckon Dolan are making more profit off the matt black as the finish is very cheap, but also very easy to touch up with a rattle can if need be.I had no choice but to blind buy via the internet, if you could sit on one for a quick spin that would be ideal. I think i would have gone 58 if i had.
Still an easy sell on here if i change my mind, buy a 58 frame and just sell on the 56. -

Hi,
if anyone has old precursa and want to sell in 58 please let me know.
Looking for replacement for work.thanks

Thanks all for replying,
Will be going 165mm crank instead of 170, stem i've going with 110mm for whatever reason i might change that thoug, will have to see what I like.
Still kinda of unsure on what size to get, I am 6'1.5 with long legs (90cm inseam) and arms, short torso . Was pretty set on getting a 60cm but based on what you guys are saying I will probably go for a 58cm, surely 56 would be too small?
Don't intend to race however this will be my only bike and I will be commuting/riding/climbing pretty hard. -

General wisdom is to downsize on a PC because of the crazy long TT. ESP on the 60 with a 74deg HT.
I'm 6'3" and found the 60cm uncomfortably long, it was only workable with 80mm stem & risers, that said I prefer more 'upright' as its my beater and my back is pretty stiff.
When I replaced the frame I downsized to a 58. much more comfortable. and + rise stems look fine to me instead of spacer stack to get the height on the HT.with the length of stem you want, and a setback seatpost, I think the 60cm will likely be too big for you.

Hey guys, wondering does anyone have the old seta's geo chart? Or do they know if it's the same geo as the new one?
-
• #3492
Same as new, it's the same frameset.

Hello again,
I went ahead and purchased the dolan pre cursa above (went with 58cm frame, 100mm stem, 165mm crank) and the only thing I need now is pedals.
I've never used any form of foot retention when riding and I wanted to get used to the bike first using flat pedals (with straps), then progress only clipless.
Can any of you guys recommend some decent flat pedals with straps?
Thanks

• #3494
Ive got a pair of Cinelli Kink straps on DMR V6 pedals, which i think is a great starter for straps, but i had to take a drill to the pedal holes to fit the straps.
-
• #3495
Personally i think it's easier to get out of spd pedal than flats+straps (if said straps are properly tensioned)
Also cheaper and so much better

Anyone with a 60cm pre c -do you experience toe overlap with the stock fork? Moving down to a 58+ alpina fork from my 60+ blb fork and the additional toe overlap is unwelcome... Weaving through traffic/ trackstanding is just that little bit more tricky now, enjoyed not having to think about it before :/
-
• #3497
I'm afraid it's something you will need to get used to, and you will eventually subconsciously be able to ride with extreme toe overlap soon, give it time.

Just googled DMR V6 (being 'old', thinking it was a typo) and jeez, what the heck has DMR done to the design of their pedals!? Presumably has been changed to lower stack height, increase platform size, etc... But the timeless, curvy mk.II design has been replaced with some horrible oblique thing.
-
• #3499
I think the V8 is what you're looking for, the V6 is now the budget plastic pedals.
Either way, go for the Nukeproof Electron Evo instead.

Yep, I know. V6 didn't exist when I knew about MTB stuff, so thought it was a typo until I googled it.
This look well nice! Might buy myself one too.
