The FXE is a pre cursa with slightly longer stays and fittings for brakes and mudguards, you are in the correct place to ask about them.

dikdik's troll power is strong in this case.

The FXE is basically a precursa with more clearance, just search that thread for FXE...

They only bad point with the fxe is that it doesn't have steel inserts on the dropouts so the back wheel can skip under heavy skidding. Only a problem brakless though

Yeah, I wouldn't be riding brakeless. Not sure if I would ride it fixed much even. Seems like the bike I'm looking for but would like to give it a test ride. Also looking at a Tokyo Fixed Dart.

I reckon it looks like alright value for money and a solid bike but with some clever buying you could build something better from the classifieds here for the same money. £550 is plenty of cash to build something a little special.

How do you fit the waterbottles to this frame? Can I bring it to the LBS and have them drill holes in the frame for it?

Probably the 54 would be the best bet depending on how accurate 5'9" is and what you plan to do with it.
I actually have a 52 which has a 53.5cm effective TT length and I'm 5'9.5" though I ride track.

I'll also mention that the blue looks better than the black but each to their own.

My commuter and herne hill track champ being pressed into (new) allotment duty. Wheels will be rattle canned black soon.

is the track champion worth those extra few pennies over the pc

Personally i wouldn't say so, haven't ridden both but not owned either

TC's are supposed to be pretty stiff and have a shorter TT so going by that I'd say if you're using them on the road you won't feel the upgrade/would actually be better off with a PC.

If I plan on riding with brakes should I look at the FXE?

Also does anyone have a definitive list of the best components you can use to build one of these things?

Looking at the options I'm a lil blown away...
