Nope, but I would have to be back on Sunday evening and it would be a shame to have to hightale it back.
I'm trying to take the week after off so I can get more Yorkshire miles in.Fiar enough. I'm gonna be rushing back to work though so at least you'd have some company! Head up Friday evening and get the miles in on Saturday!

I'm from Yorkshire so it'd be nice to drop in and see the parental figure.
Would also be a blast if I could manage to get some of the old routes done too, it's been too many years.
Definitely heading up Friday if I go.

Great to see all the interest, anyone else thinking about it needs to register soon, spoke to Gil last night and it's filling up nicely.

Just to bring this thread to the fore front again. I am race number 33. I saw Tilovers name on there what about the rest of you, what numbers have you got?

im 178! cant wait!
actually ive been looking at building up another bike, thinking of a voodoo wanga frame or a sanderson soloist....anyone have any thoughts? or even better any one have that they may be selling? would love an explosif as ive always wanted one but are hard to come by. -
• #33
The Wanga is a nice frame. You can sometimes pick up Explosifs cheap on Singletrackworld or retrobike. Worth having a look for.
Role on June...

• #34
yeah been looking in all the usual places, anyone ridden a sanderson soloist? heard good things about their own ebb, but is it true??
-
• #35
yeah, sanderson is a nice bit of kit, and not too expensive either,
i have EBB's on 2 bikes, love them.

Right boys and Girls who is coming from London for this? Some may go up indepenat some may go as a group.
It's only two weeks away so we need to start getting organised for a group run.
Two issues.
Accommodation. Tents clearly but does every one have one? Does any one need room in a tent. I have a three man (two comfy). plus a four man (3 comfy) which is at my parents house but I may go home this w/e if needs be. What about everyone else.
Travel. Hiring a van seems best to chuck all bikes and gear in, but a van only really takes three people. Momentum suggestion is one van and one car or two cars depending on how many people are coming. That gives us 8 (bit of a squish) people with one car or 13 (bit of a squish) with two. Now I have an old banger 306 that we can take but I am also happy to drive the van if someone else has some lovely comfy massive car. Other ideas are Obviously welcome but this is just my initial thoughts.
Lets get the ball rolling.

Good call Tommy. I'm sorted for a tent for myself and my wife and have another small two man that I could lend someone if they need it.
Don't have a car but happy to rent and drive a van provided people help with some cash money! I reckon we could get up to 8 bikes and a bunch of bags in the back of a transit, so that should free up space in your 306 if there are no other cars available.

Of course all cost split however many ways this ends up going.
Who has actually registered?
I've got a paypal receipt but nothing else through yet.

I'm guessing that you're number 150 on this list http://www.ssuk09.com/page4.htm and I'm number 26 so that's us two sorted. Think Prav won't be able to make it now. My wife is still planning to come but will need to check that she's still up for it!

Van is booked, bikes need tweaking but we'll be there.
We're coming up on early Saturday morning. Look out for one really tall ginger on a Singular 29er and another not quite as tall ginger on a weird blue thing.

• #42
Well look out for a 6'3 shaven headed bearded guy riding a White Surly 1x1 with Jones bars. Come say Hi.
-
• #43
i will be there at the singular tent, on a fixed with bushy beard and glasses. probably beer in hand too. can't fricking wait.
bear in mind that the leeds alleycat is in leeds on the sunday too, so if any of you are in no rush you can pop back via leeds on the evening and make the evening beers/trick comps... i can help direct you.

Looking forward to it too. I don't know that part of the country so I'm doubly looking forward to it.
We both have to head back for Monday work so I expect we'll be heading straight back unfortunately.

• #45
aw that's a shame... will be good to meet more lfgss people, you been to an ssuk champs before?
-
• #46
Nope. I have not been to a MTB race since I was about 15, where everyone else seemed to have £1500 bikes. The inadequacy haunt me still.
-
• #47
hehe... shouldnt worry, singlespeed races are the least formal maximum fun races about,
should be just drinking and being social in a beautiful forest for a weekend, everyone is insanely friendly and keen to share bike stories (or drinking stories)be sure to bring a bottle of whisky or a nice rioja
:D
