  • For reference, mine is very much conventional road geo - 23.5" frame, roughly 58cm top tube, 73° angles - apart from the bottom bracket I guess:

For comparison I have a Feather track frame with a steeper seat tube, 55.5cm top tube, shorter wheelbase, an 11cm stem and a layback post, vs the inline post and 10cm stem I have on the Bob.

I run a bit more drop on the Feather but the reach is about the same with that setup.

  • @Regal. That is a hell of an elegant duo. Lovely looking rides.

  • Cheers.

  • Hello LFGSS!
I'd love to hear what the standover height is.

I would not worry about the standover height as it's not a problem like toe overlap.

  • @Regal. That is a hell of an elegant duo. Lovely looking rides.

    It certainly is.

    They're both lovely.

  • anyone know the fork rake on a vigorelli?

    (edit: asked them, it's 43/45mm)

  • Unboxing a Bob: http://imgur.com/a/7qxYJ (duh, fixed)

Metallic forest green and 20.5" square fwiw

  • Nice, buyer is smart to stay away from lug lining unless they are are really into the handmade look.

  • sick colour yo

  • ^^ this. Doing the lining yourself is best.

  • Drat. I'll be needing some non-recessed bolt brakes then Whoops they are recessed nevermind.

  • Shoot me a pm, I haz some for cheapz

  • Am interested in doing my own lining. Have a blue Vigorelli with yellow barber pole and thinking that yellow lugs would set it off a treat. Is there a recommended paint / brush combo to choose?

  • A lot of people use enamel paint pens, otherwise use model paint and a quality brush.

  • I used a paint pen on my old carlton continental. I thought it looked all right at the time. The smoothness of the lugs makes a difference as you use them as a guide. Obviously, start with the BB as it's not visible, other than that it's fairly straight forward.

Update on putting gears back on my old Carlton...

Got the frame back from Armortex and spent the day trying to pick out the lugs with Rover touch-up paint from Halfrauds...

... some of its ok, some bits not. But from a distance I think it improves the look.

Struggling replacing the bb... one of the cups just doesnt want to go in:(

Also ordered new tires and orange cables. Still trying to work out what to do for the bars + brakes.

  • Great - those enamel pens from graff-city look just the ticket. One on its way through the Christmas postal system....

  • Quick pic before I cover it in ugly sensible shite (lights, lock etc) for commuter duty..

  • Cruds. Pretty sure chromoplastics won't fit with the 28mm tyres.

  • It may not given how short the reach is on the Vigorelli, even though they're medium-reach caliper.

  • I'd rather have 25s and Chromoplastics (which does fit) than 28s and Cruds. Personally.

  • I agree, if comfort your main concern Yemble, wider rims with 25mm felt like 28mm, not cheap of course.

  • For reference, I posted some pics on page 8 of this thread showing the clearance on my Vig with 25C Rubino Pro on Open Pro and Chromoplastics, so you could make a judgement call based on that as to whether or not you think 28s will fit.
