    +10. You forgot Kool Keith.

  • Big L - put it on - all the verses are good but my favourite of the three...

    [big l]
Aiyyo, you betta flee hobbes, or get your head flown three blocks
L keep rappers hearts pumpin like reeboks
And every year I gain clout and my name sprouts
Some brothersd still be large if the crack never came out
I got the wild style, always been a foul child
My guns go poom-poom, and yo guns go pow-pow
Im known to have a hottie open, I keep the shottie smokin
Front and get half the bones in your body broken
And when it comes to gettin nookie Im not a rookie
I got girls that make that chick toni braxton look like whoopie
I run with sturdy clicks Im never hittin dirty chicks
Got thirty-five bodies, buddy dont make it thirty-six
Step to this youre good as gone, word is bond
I leave mics torn when I put it on

with the dj soul dilla remix

i like biggie but i always had a problem with his freestyling, every time i heard him freestyle it was always "first things first, big poppa freak all the honeys..."

so i thought i would google that and found this http://www.bizbag.com/Misc%20articles/Rap%20Lyrics%20Translated.htm

For me, this line and how Ice T delivers it really underscores the difference between US and UK rap. If it were British it would have to be something like " It's quite late and we are realxing at Circle K"

  • I don't know any UK stuff. I stopped listening to Ice T, Cube, NWA kinda stuff about 15 years ago.
Some stuff sticks in my head though. That 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 verse for example is sample by a few techno tracks which is why I know that one. The Blackalicious stuff I got into more recently when I heard it on a JJJ (Aus youth radio station) compilation.

What the hell you talkin' 'bout Willis?

YouTube - Dr. Octagon - Earth People

    Really?

YouTube - Lowkey VS Papoose (Alphabet Assassin VS Alphabetical Slaughter)

  • Public Enemy - Fight the power

I used to love P.E. - when I was working in L.A once - lowly paid animator doing an even lower paid PSA (public service announcement) encouraging young black kids to read - I saw Flavor Flav literally leave the ground in his car as he came over the crest of a hill towards us (he was instantly recognisable) - some of the locals I was working with said this was not a rare thing, they had seen him steaming through the streets in his car numerous times - often with police screaming after him (no joke). I think he was involved in all sorts of drug problems back then.

    Yeah boooooooeeeeeeeeeey.

When I lived up Kentish Town Road and NWA where around, I started one of my numerous failed bands, we were called NW5, we were very very bad.

  • Straight outa Kentish..

Doesn't quite have the same ring. Bit like this?

  • Probably the fucking deepest Hip Hop verse ever:

Glad that you're bound to return
There's something I could have learned
    You're indestructible, always believe in
    After the rush has gone
I hope you find a little more time
Remember we were partners in crime.

    Dark, fucking dark.

  • Gold!

    Always believe in your soul.

You want dark? Here's some pakistani dark sh*t:

  • "You couldn't catch me in the streets without a ton of reefer. That's like Malcolm X, catchin' the Jungle Fever."
