  • Congratulations, break out the fresh tweed and gin supplies.

  • Nice one Teddy.

  • Good man teddy and congratulations.

The idea of taking any kind of test these days has me waking up in the middle of the night in a blind panic.

  • Congrats!

  • Congrats.

  • See? Not difficult at all. Now, enjoy your days at the Home Office getting paperwork done....that is really tough.

  • way to go!

  • Nice one - congrats!

  • Oh god. I've got to do this in the next month or two & I'm shitting myself. You haven't got electronic copies of those flash cards have you !Nhattattack!?

As an aside, the path to citizenship here is fucked up. I came here on an Ancestry visa 4 years ago and if the law hadn't changed since I've been here I'd be a citizenship by December this year. And they're going to change it again in December this year so it will now take your average unmarried immigrant (ie me) 8 years to become a citizen unless I do "prescrived activities" and they don't tell you what those are. Advice for those eligible to aplpy for citizenship/ILR - do it as soon as you can, and definitley before December 2009.

What? They are changing it again?! BOCs
Fine.. I'll just get married immigration slags.. how do ya like them apples!?!

  • Nice one on passing the test, mr tedster.

  • Spiffo Ted old bean

yep. application price goes up by about £125 in april, too. fun, eh?

  • Trust me, marriage is also a pain, and expensive.

    Congrats, teddy, your AWESOME.

  • good stuff teddy.
i tried it the other day........failed miserably.

  • Like I said to teddy last night, I've got until 2013 before they can kick me out so I might well be sick of this place by the time I can apply :)

Settlement cost me £1000 and 4 hours in Croydon getting ignored by civil servants behind plexiglass. Don't tell me immigrants don't pay their way......

  • cost me £1000 and 4 hours in Croydon

That's adding insult to injury, I'd pay a grand NOT to have to spend 4 hours in Croydon

  • That thing about the 'bow finger' is an urban legend. It has been debunked. Truth is, no one (apparently) knows where the v sign comes from. Or the middle finger (I think).

I think I could take a stab-in-the-dark guess as to why the middle finger is associated with intercourse.

  • Well, it's only 750 if you apply by post, but then they keep you and your husbands passports forever.

Well, only a few months, but I still haven't gotten mine back, so it feels like forever.

You should have seen the inside of the building....Terry Gilliam's Brazil....

I travel for work so the extra £ made sense for me. And on principle I get really tired of having to send my passport and ANOTHER set of passport pics to Wales for pretty much anything. I swear the Home Office must have 15 different pictures of me.

  • I was going to go in person, I did for the limited leave to remain one. But then they were booked for appointments for 2 months, and my visa expired in one month. So the post it was.

  • 66% - I Fail!!!

Who cares how many Catholic children live in Scotland.

Um have to admit to not knowing when kids take national tests, you know, the easy ones
that they all get A's for.

  • congrats teddy!

  • I just passed the test so if anyone wants my copies of these sing out:

Free to a good home, all in good nick and unmarked.

  • So I'm doing this tomorrow, been able to get away with not but I'm going for citizenship now.
I'm scared the computer is going to fuck me up and randomly give me the hardest ones, like the facts ones.

I've studied but have a terrible figures recall.

Don't feel like I have studied enough, but tonight I am cramming! If you see me on here, tell me to get back to the books/app.

    Sigh.
