I've had all the Trappists bar the Westvleteren and a couple of them were massively underwealming, naming no names Orval

Orval is amazing! Very bitter, clean tasting good to start with before hitting the darker richer ones

Having a sweet tooth and enjoying a good beery belch as I do, I love LOVE Boon Kriek. Haters gonna etc...

Lager tonight. Do I need to ban myself?
-
• #961
No, if they make it then it's only right that someone should drink it.

I don't agree with any of that best beer shit, it's the same as the best wine shit. I know what I like and I drink it.
Cain's Dark and Mild was one of my favourites for a long time, not so easy to get now I don't live in Liverpool. Recently mentioned Innis&Gunn is one of my favourites too.
Not ashamed to say I love Timmermans Peche either. It's a delicious, beery, soft drink.

Real Ale fans, tonight's East Beers night and as always it's at the best real ale pub in London, run by a real live forumenger with a beard, the Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington.

Was at the hackney city farm cycle powered cinema last night. They were serving ale from the keg, £3 a pint. Great I think. It was some London Fields Brewery Summer Honey Ale or something. First taste, fucking horrible. Clearly off. Get told by the bar staff that "it's meant to taste like that". Whatever, it's a non profit event, so not gonna kick up a fuss.
Half way through the film they announce beer is half price cause nobody is buying it.
I have still yet to taste a good beer from that brewery.

Agree there photoben. Shame really as there are so many fine examples of great local beers. They should have a chat with the brodies guys about beer making

I was reminded on another thread, of my time in Cameroon, where little ramshackle alcohol shops would open at about 6:30am (I believe) and Cameroonian men would stop in for a quick one, or a slow one, on the way to work. They would waylay their friends passing by, and encourage them to also partake. All by 7:30-8:30am. I was astonished, but saw that it was a very friendly and jovial affair.
Whenever I'm in France, I always think it would be a bit indecent of me to have beer with brekkie, but since it is on offer, I have tried it a couple of times. If truth be told, I prefer my normal cappucino.

More guest beers than ever, going to be a busy two weeks.
Okell's IPA
Bushy's Piston Heads
And Gallons and Gallons from Marstons and Wychwood.
Enjoyed the coffee porter in the Rose & Crown on Sunday.
Worst beer, probably some pish at a beer festival out the back of a pub.
