Not the beer so much as the Tesco.

Meh. Supermarkets have good beer now.
Why the Tesco hate?
You know that Waitrose is Covid free due to 'poshness' antibodies.

Yeah, I'm so posh I am, following that well trod path of government-schooled Aussie bush kid -> Oxbridge -> PM :P
I hate most Supermarkets - going to them as well as how they operate. Maybe Co-Op are ok but particularly Tesco - they essentially killed my partner's parents business in her town. Our High St here campaigned and won to keep them out so we still have things like a butcher, green grocer, two small Co-ops and a Nisa rather than one massive undercutting bastard Tesco.
Anyway, I looked last night and the beer in question can be purchased from their online store and if the missus places an order with them (yeah, we still use them sometimes) I might get her to add some of those cans. I have a couple of local breweries and a couple of local beer shops that are getting more of my money during this downturn and Brewdog but I like them.

Excellent.

How is stock chosen at a supermarket branch? My local big Tesco is the supermarket that seems to have gone biggest on 'craft' beer, which started about 18 months or so ago I guess. For an overall beer selection Waitrose and the big Morrisons across town probably still beat it. Asda is OK and Sainsbury's is disappointing.

Here, M&S and Waitrose are decent. Co-op, Tesco and Sainos are all pretty much on par below those but that's probably because they're all in smaller buildings (Tesco Metro or whatever they're called). I've not been to our big Tesco enough to know although I seem to recall it had a lot of spirits/wines.

Enjoyed these two. Probably not the best idea on an empty stomach though. Both from Tesco.

Definitely on an empty stomach. It's the only way to get your money's worth.
I had 3 pints of fairly tame ale this afternoon in the sun and then jumped on my third Zwift session of the day and felt considerably wobbly. I think the beer combined with the turbo on the soft matting combined with a bit of hypo to make a for a slightly tripping session. Some jelly babies and water and switching to music instead of podcasts helped focus my attention again. -

Three pints then a turbo. You’re a machine. Not sure what the point of the machine is, but it’s very impressive and unique in its abilities.

Haven't been in a supermarket for at least a decade. Now with even the corner shops selling decent beer there's no reason at all.
My local shop stocks Brewdogs, Anchor ale, and Fullers range

I just want this 2500k done so I feel like I've done my TGBR share.
I ended up with 140k or so yesterday so I only have 150k to go. Done another 70k this morning so I might try and finish today.
EDIT: Beer content - Dodo's Siren pale ale sold out real quick!

If it’s dragging on, just change your wheel circumference for extra KMs.

Someone put a link on here where you entered your postcode and it brought up local breweries. I can't find it now, can someone repost it. Cheers

That's the one, cheers.
Also throws up a few local offies with free local delivery which is nice.
-
• #8572
Yeah, it's weird though. For me it missed the places I normally use but pointed me to a brewery further away.

What did you make of that? I found it refreshing but face-puckeringly sour, and a bit one-dimensional; none of the promised bretty complexity. Still, for a quid fifty you can't really complain.
From a supermarket beer?
