It'll be interesting to see how far they can take this. I wonder if/how they may be able to achieve different styles/tastes of hops.

Hops bring more than just flavour. They are anti-bacterial, this is a very important part of making beer. This makes the beer naturally preserved, this doesn't seem to solve that issue.

Is that still a usefulness though? I can imagine when fermenting, "bottling" and stuff wasn't so clean in ye olden days but nowadays with sterilising kit and properly sealed bottles and cans is the antibac in hops actually doing anything?

It is still very useful in terms of Lambics.

I can't imagine the Belgie monk massive suddenly moving to GM hops in their brews.

Probably not but at least it didn't give you cholera, typhoid or dysentery like well water did.

"Well" yeah but my point is we probably don't 'need' that property from hops in beer now.
Fuck it. Nothing we do or consume is doing the planet any good. Time for us all to die.

Saw that a new bottle shop had opened on Hackney Rd, 3 mins from my house. Very excited. Tried this on Sat night. Was amazing.

I had that Kerala stout the other day too, was impressed with the flavours.
Also tried the Cloudwater Baltic Porter, was OK, not great. Was very drinkable but didn't really taste robust enough, a bit too light.

Brewdog have bought the Draft House pubs

It makes sense for brewdog as Draft House pubs have a pretty similar aesthetic as brewdog bars. Hope they don't kill the cask ale in Draft Houses though.

Also unsure what will happen with Camden beers being served, assume brewdog's zero tolerance stance for sell outs will stand.
-

Well, zero tolerance to anyone except themselves that is.
