  • I'd seen a large bottle of Sorachi Ace in a local pub but it was like £30 or some shit so I never bothered. They do small bottles now and I quite like it - definitely prefer it to most other saisons I've tried.

    I've not had Local 1. I had Local 2 but it was stupid gassy and left half of the bottle on the table. Need to find where to get hold of their special brews. Lots of them are draught only available in the US.

    Apparently it was the first release of Quinta in the UK. I've grabbed a bottle and will probably leave it in my "don't feckin' touch" collection.

  • Local 2 has nothing to do with the 1, hate the 2 love the 1.

    That's what I said, Sorachi Ace is not worth that money.. You can get a 750ml of Local 1 for 11/13£

    Where is said collection? I'd like to take a sip at it, sorry meant look

  • If I told you I'd have to kill you and I'm not going to be the one cleaning up that mess..

    Is Local 1 in London anywhere? I don't ride past Bottledog any more so don't see many new bottles unless I order online and that's a bit too easy.

  • Unrelated, double or triple IPA London brewed? Any?

    Only one I've had is Bosko Absoluto

  • Last time I had it was from Bottledog indeed, but I recall seeing it in Borough Market as well, probably pricier..

  • Found it. It was called "Snakes Alive" by One Mile End Brew Co

  • Oh, have a bottle of Sorachi Faceplant in the fridge as well from WB which probably counts.

  • Beavertown - Power of Voodoo 'triple' was discussed previously in this thread.

  • Anspach & Hobday do a double black IPA brewed with a saison yeast, a triple belgian and a triple chardonnay barrel aged belgian. Annoyingly they don't sell any of these in bottles yet.

    They also did a double black IPA with Bullfinch known as the double black RyPA after Ryan from Bullfinch not because it has rye in it (it doesn't) confusingly.

  • Bolton Beer Festival

    Found One Pumpkin Ale (Wentworth) it wasn't great. Hardknott Azimuth was tasty, as were Choice IPA by Rivington and the 3 from Red Willow, Directionless, Wreckless, and Smokeless.

    Smokeless was to be my last but as the tokens were no return/refund we got passed lots of spares from others leaving early, so last orders got me the attached purely on the pump label design.

    By then, I was.

    Challenging ride back to S.Manc this morning, dry night tonight.

  • ^Great name for a beer

    Just opened and poured down the sink Orbit's Elderflower Sour. Tastes very cheesy and vomity. Not for me.

  • Antipodean, Howgate and Kemp, and High Wire Grapefruit. All tasty, but am still battling through the hangover.

  • Found a cool pub on my drinking training ride today.

    They've won some CAMRA stuff so I thought I'd call in. Lots on tap, lots of Belgian bottles and they actually brew their own stuff on site (http://www.fivebellswickham.co.uk/five-bells/the-innformal-brewery/).

  • Cracked open a Westvleteren 12 to have with the Sunday roast. Best idea ever.

  • Still on Pumpkin Ale, Brewdogs offer is ok if you like the Hoegarden herb taste. Might chuck a wedge of lemon in and see what happens.

    The Brooklyn one, Post Road, was a bit watery.

    Flying Dog still top the Pumpkin Pile.

  • Hated the BD option. Not had enough pumpkin options to rule the whole genre out but..

  • 882 IPA from Northern Monk.

    For a 'Double IPA' it has a lot of malt taste to it.

  • It's pretty rule-outable (based on my locals selection) tbh. If the FD "Gourd Standard" is on a par with most the others then their 9% Imperial will be the clear winner, followed by Beavertown.

  • Hmmm... tours are all booked up while we're there, tasting room opens an hour before our flight home... crap.
