^ gonna crack it either tomorrow or Tues night, "drink it fresh" it says on bottle
Tonight Tailgate Session IPA, pretty poor if I'm honest none of that hoppy punch the likes of Founders delivers.

Picked up Adnam's Jester IPA from M&S. Heard good things about this new British hop, meant to rival the Americans.
-

Local franchise shop is offering an excellent selection at the moment. 3 for £5

M&S Adnam's jester was very nice, quite fruity. The Island Hopper Pale Ale from Windsor and Eton Brewery supposedly has Nelson hops in it but all i can taste is burnt smokey house fire type tastes. It's like they've mistakenly put a fuckload of rauch malts in.

I'm a fan of Timothy Taylor's Landlord on pump, so tried a bottle of it. God, it was nothing like the real thing. Totally loses all of the character and ends up tasting like bland bread-y sparkling water.

was in the boltmaker's in keighley not so long ago, best landlord as i've ever supped

Went to Padstow for the weekend had a few beers from the local brewery (funnily enough called Padstow Brewing Co). They are alright, not very punchy. Could do with more omph!

Oh, I find most Cornish beer pretty boring. You can tell they have good water though....
Sharp's honey spiced IPA is recommended though. Ignore the title; it's just a good IPA. Apparently much better on hand pull.

Wow, get back into the office and beer-drinkin' partner in crime has two bottles of the impossible to get Westvleteren for me.
Fuckin' get in!

^Get in!!
Yeah they've got an "IPA" which is meant to be hoppy but it's not really strong enough to be classed as an IPA and lacks a lot of flavour. Same with the pale ale which is meant to be american style but is just a bit bland.
-

Exactly as I found. I think the "Atalantic" (or something like that) is supposed to be an American style, but it's a bit soda water-y. Not bad though.

Simon bought their Stormrunner winter brown ale, maybe that'll be better as it seems to be the style of drink they like down those parts (I did not see a pale ale in any of the pubs).

I went to the monastery at Westvleteren once, to raid the shop.
It was closed.

I've been wanting to get along there for ages but never do. Same as the old plan to bring back a van loaded with beers.. just never happens.
These were from a whiskey festival in Limburg of all places. #blackmarketbeer

went to the wanstead tap for some take outs yesterday
odd little place in a railway arch near forest gate but a huge selection of nice but pricey beers, barely recognised any, bit of a community / village hall feel, they also hire the place out
didn't do a selfie of me and said beers and can't remember what they were now but i vaguely remember them tasting quite nice -

I believe the landlord from there popped into Anspach & Hobday yesterday for a chat about supplying beers. Sounds like a nice little spot.

Went to Weird Beard's brewery yesterday. It was great. Got six bottles of the Brodie's collaboration Weird Bro(d)mance, plus Sadako Jim Beam barrel aged stout.
-
• #3571
Missed that. I was just too knackered.
I need to ask them where else I can find their Sadako.
-
• #3572
They have it in un-aged and whiskey barrel aged versions too.

I believe I spotted one other forum member there.... Laner maybe? I haven't been to Easts for a long time, so I'm a bit hazy on names.
Something Something Darkside is very nice too, and strongly recommended. The brewery is super clean compared to London Fields which I was at during the weekend.

At the Weird Beard Brewery? Sounds like a good guess. :)
Pretty jealous of the UHC, the Magic Rock website sold out in no time at all
