Had a clouded minds - dolce vita earlier this evening. First beer I've tried from them and didn't enamour me. Very dry, terribly astringent and very badly balanced.
Pressure drop were as good as ever with pale fire & stokey brown

I'm planning on visiting on all 4 days of this, be rude not to seeing as I work close by. The forrin beer alone could occupy all my visits:

Looking forward to trying The Great, Big Kentucky sausage fest, obv.

Think I'm going to drop into the Colorado tap takeover at Brewdog Shepherds Bush.
They have this:

^ It looks good, one to find up here if I can I reckon.
This arvo:
Seven Bros Stout
Anarchy Quiet Riot
Chorlton Calibration Sour.
Beavertown Smog RocketWashed down dinner with Youngs Double Choc Stout, a good big brewer ale.
I also got another 125 Marble Imperial Stout bottle, this being the Burgundy Barrel 2nd bottling. Going to enjoy that for sure.

When's that? (I muted most breweries as I'm trying to sober up, doh!)
-
• #3287
Today!
Full of cunts though; go when it's quiet.
-
• #3288
Ah. I don't mind it busy as they usually serve quick unlike city twat cocktail bars.
-
• #3289
It was QPR vs. Man U, so particularly cuntish last night. Try that beer though, if you like your stouts like engine oil.
-
• #3290
They let football scum into MY bar?!
I do like my stouts heavy so will keep an eye out for it.
-
• #3291
I'm there on lunch breaks from work. Occasionally after. I kind of wish they also had real ale, but they clearly won't stock anything that hasn't been dry-hopped to fuck.
-
• #3292
They're not set up for that and if you want real ale there's thousands of other options already so why would they? Especially given their CAMRA spat.
I don't tend to go there unless I'm set to taste a bunch of different stuff - sessioning their standard 'easy drinkin' stuff at home. -

The only pub with occasionally drinkable ale nearby is the Defectors or 'Spoons though. I think I maybe just dislike the aggressive marketing, and high prices. My favourite sort of bar is probably a compromise like Craft Beer Co.

What about the one over the road? Or there's some down Goldthingie road I've been to before. Queen Vic or is it Queen Adelaide, but probably too far.

Sindercombe Social? Fake hipster pub. I spoke with one of the barmen. They are allowed only one guest cask ale on at a time as are the rules set by the owners... Mitchell and Butler?
They have a Sierra Nevada seasonal red ale on just now which is very good.
-
• #3296
Ah, ok. I guess I would stick to wandering down Goldhawk Rd then if I wanted ales but I don't really recall anything in particular. Only been down there a couple of times.

FREE BEER on Saturday
https://www.facebook.com/gipsyhillbrewing?fref=nf
Hi all - Due to a technical glitch the council have NOT granted us a license to open this weekend. This means we are not allowed to SELL any beer.
We are so keen to open, and are so excited about getting up and running this year, that we've decided WE ARE GOING TO OPEN AS USUAL!
The only way to do this legally is to give away beer for free...So that's what's happening!
WE ARE OPEN THIS SATURDAY AS NORMAL, 1PM - 6PM, AND WE ARE GIVING OUT ALL BEER FOR FREE!
this is not a joke.I'm out in the evening and I'm now going to be turning up drunk as a lord
-
• #3298
I bet nobody will go to that. Who'd be interested in free beer?
-
• #3299
I barely thought it was worth sharing

Manchester Beer Fest after 2 days, only 2 beers (last night) and 3 ciders (tonight) tried. Got a couple of free half vouchers gifted my way tonight which effectively makes tomorrow a freebie.
Had the other two bare arts stouts tonight, both v.good, esp the strong one.
