  • Anyone here know if there's a decent brewer making a tasty 2% ragler style tho? The principal isn't a bad one perhaps?

  • tasty 2%

Why the fuck would you even think like this?

  • Flavour not drunkeness. I'm getting old.

  • Germany

  • Radlers are actually quite nice. #shandydrinker

  • I use them to 'take it easy' in between the dozen pints of 12% Belgian tripels...

  • ;)

  • Brewdog nanny state.

  • Am thinking if it came in a screw top plastic bottle too that'd be even better.

  • Brewdog nanny state.

    Good call.

  • Well, apart from the lack of alcohol, pussies.

  • Used in between vodka shots Polish style.

  • When they're out of whisky, obvs.

  • I had a bottle of mexi-cocoa from rebel last night, apparently it was £10.20 for 330ml but down to £4 as it's nearly passed it's best before date. A proper beer at 8.5%. Thick and tasty, lots of chocolatey, vanillary coffeeness. Nom.

  • Sounds interesting. Love the discount.

I've been mostly drinking English ales. Saving the better stuff for laterz.

  • I found a 3% tasty one.

It was this or a Cucumber & Mint Saison at 2.9%...

  • Bargain booze are doing the Thwaites "Crafty Dan" stuff for 3 for £4.50. Bit of a bargain. The Triple C is real nice.

  • I'm supping on Stalins Organ (by To Ol) and going to wash it down with Evil Twin Bikini Beer (sub 3% ftw).

  • There's some cans here by Maverick brewery all themed on activities... the Pace Setter Rye is supposed to be tasty and has pic of a bike, so must be good. It is sub 4% so close to what I asked here about t'other day.

  • I'm supping on Stalins Organ (by To Ol) and going to wash it down with Evil Twin Bikini Beer (sub 3% ftw).

Stalin's Organ was awesome. Bikini beer, less so.

  • Agreed. The b.b. was quite gassy I was left feeling quite bloated after a half.

Big shout to the guy on ss/fixed who stopped me on Burton Rd earlier to tell me he works at Tiny Tipple and they sell Maverick, he'd overheard me asking in The Epicurean... Ta!

  • His name eludes me atm, but yeah they are really nice in there. Will always let you bring your bike in.

Thornbridge wild swan is 3.5% and very, very good.

  • I recommend Thornbridge Wild Swan for a weaker beer, it's delicious. 3.5% though so not as weak as a Radler/shandy would be. Brewdog Dead Pony Club is decent too.

I've been trying a few of the Celt Experience beers and they're really good. The Bleddyn IPA and Golden Age in particular. They've also got some unusual seasonal brews that I'd really like to try.

  • ^^ ha. Wild Swan ftw.

  • Cheers for the Thornbridge tip.

I went and bought the cucumber & mint saison for 3 of us (750ml bottle) to share with curry dinner. It went well with the food but not sure I'd enjoy it too much on it's own.
