  • There's only one place to go drinking in Buxton

  • Isn't that where they fill up bottles of Volvic?

  • Not a fan of first chop beers, they are all hops with no finish but their black IPA syl is well nice and £3.40 for an over 6% pint in sandbar.

  • Yeah Syl is nice.

    Two new bottles tonight...

De Molen Pale Ale Citra v.nice.

    Mad Hatter Toxteth IPA ok.

  • Buxton brewery tap is superb.

    This.

Had Axe Edge IPA & Imperial Black IPA plus Sunday Roast plus Sticky Toffee Pud.

Would make an ace dinner stop on a long relaxed ride out from Manchester

Ah Sandbar, those were the days. Quality boozer.

  • Camden gentleman's Wit - belgian style wheat beer in Sandbar.

Four pound fucking eighty a pint, and shite.

  • This was real nice:

    Bohemia Regent, Czech Lager

  • I added a few more recently, thanks to Bottle Dog being on the ride home now.

Just about to crack the 600 unique beers in Untappd except I'm not drinking for a bit. Not bad, since I only installed it in October or something.

  • been caning the proper job, st austell,
    and boondoggle ringwoods,

  • Bollington Brewery- Festivale; Nice light and refreshing, definitely earnt after a night spent in the break (and finishing last from it)

  • Black Jacques last night - it's a wine barrel aged saison. Not sure about it to be honest. It's nice enough but when I see saison I guess I have different expectations, ie. light. Should've known with the 11% abv it'd be a kicker.

  • Chocolate beer?! I have a feeling I'd rather not try that.

Went on my first visit to Westvleteren yesterday, put these into the back my staircase cupboard.... now busy trying to forget all about them for at least two years... nnggghhhhhhh

If you call their beer hotline and get through, you get a choice of 3 days to pick up your maximum of 2 cases of 24 bottles. In the café & shop opposite the monestary you can buy 2 sixpacks per person. There's no choice of what kind though, sometimes they have the 6, sometimes the 8 and often the 12 (yellow bottle cap).

  • Chocolate and beer go great together.

  • Chocolate in beer yes, not chocoalate and beer

  • In the "new" (rebranded jackalope) Strange Brew place in Chorlton last night, Siren oatmeal pale was very nice. Also had a westmalle tripel before i left the house, top stuff.

  • Really enjoyed this last night:

Very rich and powerful but still very well integrated. Doesn't taste like normal beer with a vodka in it, which can be a downfall of beer this strong. Definitely worth a go.

    Dibs!
    (Best beer in the world)

  • ^ most hyped because of its rarity in any case...

St Bernardus 12 is easier to get hold of, based on the same recipe, slightly different taste though but imho just as lovely and it gets better with age just as well.

  • Fourpure Brewery, IPA & Session IPA both v.tasty.

  • £1.79 for 750ml Leffe in Tesco. So I bought twenty bottles.

  • We got Hammerton Brewery beers in our Desk Beer delivery at work today, a pale ale, a larger but most importantly an oyster stout. I really want a beer and I've not tried any of their beer before, 5 o'clock can't get here quick enough.

  • With all the specialist off-licences all over the place, there must be somewhere in London I can get Herforder Pils (preferably in a yellow handbag), anyone got any ideas?

  • Got gifted some Dead Crow bourbon beer..

I will drink it at some stage.
