  • Just picked up a couple of bottles of Bruce Dickenson's beer in Morrison's. Anyone tried it yet?

I've been drinking Meantime's chocolate porter lately. Found out last week they do brewery tours.

do you mean Iron Maiden Trooper?

Yeah that's the one, from Robinsons Brewery.

We tried it, was quite nutty but had a citrusy tang. Quite pleasant

Pleasing it's made its way to supermarkets, saves ordering it from the brewery

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!l

  • I picked up a bottle in Devon, it was pretty good.

  • went to Billericay Brewery shop yesterday.
tried their Mayflower Gold (American IPA) not bad, also had a swig of the Mild with no name, proper tasty.
picked up a bottle of each and a Export Indian Porter from The Kernal. supping now, its a bit chocolate-y. not sure if i am a fan.

  • £3.90 for a pint of Darkstar APA!

    You trendy, cunty, bastards! Motherfuckers.

  • EIP Kernal was pretty good after half a pint.
    Mayflower Gold is bad.

  • Visited both the Kernel & Partizan breweries today and picked up an assortment of tasty treats. Just tucking into a Partizan Simcoe IPA. So fresh they hadn't even had a chance to put labels on the bottles. My god it's good. 9/10. The sort of aggressive hoppyness that I crave. If you find yourself in Bermondsey on a Saturday morning, highly recommend a visit to both. Most cost effective way of purchasing too.....

  • I think I may start brewing my own beer

  • if you need a guinea pig to drink the first dozen or so pints, let me know...

  • Magic Rock Surreal Stout well worth finding... washed dinner down with Sam Smith's Choc Stout.

  • ^^^do it, It's great fun!

  • Just bought a shit load of equipment. Hopefully will have a nice pale ale to drink in a months time.

  • Hurrah, just make sure everything that comes in to contact with the beer is super super clean so that it doesn't get infected. Also make sure it doesn't get too hot whilst it is fermenting as that will give you that off flavour.

OLC should have a garage soon so I can restart BrewKat. I'm going to look for a 50L pan with a tap so I can do proper all grain brewing (so far only done kit brewing). Pretty sure I've seen some big pans with taps in the shops down Atlantic Rd so will have a gander.

Conjuring up a chocolate porter recipe, have seen one which includes peanut butter but hmm not sure about that. Also seen a hazelnut chocolate porter, if that tastes like nutella I'm in!

  • clever pun
are you gonna let us in on how that car boot full of beers is going down ?
and what they were / are ?

  • Anyone here going to the Great British Beer Fest?

  • When is it? Should Google!

  • It's a beer festival at Olympia in August where you can try ales by region from all over the uk. I go every year.

  • Billericay Beer Fest today.

I've picked up all the equitment now, just need to wait for my aquarium thermostat to arrive to keep the fermenting at a constant 20°C then will start my american style pale ale. I was thinking of doing a porter after this, but I think I may wait and try a black I.P.A. if I can get my head around the recipe.

I often ride there (from hackney) . Never remember how I get back.

  • Royal Rooster, at the Cock Tavern, Fulham !

Specially brewed in a limited amoiunt to commemorate something or other.

Beautiful, but very strong. 6.5% ?

  • Recently had Raad and Daad by Brouwerij De Molen. In the very fine Friends of Ham in Leeds.

It is, by a long way, the strangest beer I have tasted. Classed as a Sour beer, it certainley is. I likened it to drinking the juice of a pickeld onion jar with the onions eaten. Not undrinkable but close. If I had been drinking it with bread and a nice strong cheese it would have been good.

  • Anyone use the Untappd application?

    https://untappd.com/

  • A massive box of grains has just arrived at my desk.

Got pale malt, chocolate malt, black malt, caramalt and biscuit malt. Also got some East Kent Goldings and Phoenix hops. Just need to wait for the garage to be available now!
