Anything they do with custard, which is a lot, is always grim

It just tasted of bitter nothing. Really vile. Why do they do shite like this?
-
• #11829
their core beers are really good, I find any of the wacky shit they do is borderline undrinkable. used to really rate NM but tend to steer clear now

Had hoped this would taste like a milkshake but it’s not quite there.

I've been enjoying all the beers from the Bentspoke microbrewery, and it's not just because of the branding

Afternoon treat, bit of a mouthful (literally and figuratively)
Punchy, licorice front, very sweet finish. Aftertaste is all fudge.
Would be nice to share this can, it's a bit much, but alas MrsDeth is not a beer drinker, so it's all on me.

Anyone else on Brewser on here (or just have some breweries to recommend)?
I've gone through most of the Breweries that I'm familiar with (Thornbridge and Vocation probably the best so far) so looking for other suggestions.
Brewery list here https://brewser.beer/our-breweries/ for those wondering

Not on Brewser, but Northern Monk rarely disappoint.

Pretty much every craft brewery in the UK worth its salt is on there. What kind of stuff do you like?
Personally Burning Sky, Baron, Beak, Duration, Howling Hops, Sureshot, Track, Vault City, UnBarred.
I would steer clear of Vibrant Forest. Its a one trick pony. And every strong Verdant beer tastes strongly of onion (the yeast I think) to me.

Most stuff, in particular dark stuff and stronger stuff. Not sours/saisons (which rules out Vault City).
Think I've had Beak (which I don't think I rated that much), Howling Hops and Track from those. Will look at some of the others.
@DethBeard I tend to avoid the ones that are in supermarkets as I'll normally have had a fair few of the selection (I've also been fairly underwhelmed by some of the weird flavour Northern Monk ones recently).

From that list (and taking into account you're not a fan of sour/saison-styles), I'd have a look at Abbeydale, Burnt Mill, Duration, Sureshot (brewer is ex Marble/Cloudwater), Wild Card and Wiper & True. Maybe Lakes (only had a few of theirs but they were decent) and Pomona Island (if you like hazy, which I don't).

Right time of year for it.

Shamless ref code: REF82DV4VNU8E
Brewser is great, big fan of Pentrich, Sureshot, Pollys, Gravity Well, Double Barrelled, Track & Baron - They're mostly IPA/Pale boxes though.
Taturus and Abbeydale are also good shouts, for some variation.
They've got a Facebook group, Planet Brewer, which is pretty good to get a heads up on future boxes/styles

Just wanted to echo this. Northen Monk seem determined to ruin any reputation they once had. Leftover Pumpkin beer leftover Hot Cross bun beer. Fuck off.

Beyond Belief will be launching soon, they use pasta waste in their brewing process, I’ve tried their beers and they are decent.

Good news for fans of Canopy... looks like the brewery and taproom site will be reopening, albeit with a different name and owners.
