It's ruddy confusing, especially when you're meeting someone.

Thought that would be the case, might have to make a pilgrimage at some point then.

I may have made a dint in the cask at the Beer Shop this evening.

I would recommend it. Might not have the EIP on cask, though. I'm told they're tapping the London Brick (red rye IPA) this weekend.

Canopy closing, bit of a bummer as when I lived in HH they were a great spot for a drink. Their subscription boxes also kept me mildly sane during lockdown. Sad.

Ah shame. What's the reason?

I heard they just couldn't make it work in the current economic climate. Shame as their beers were decent.

Didn’t do too well in Bangkok and Siam Reap for beers, just the popular lagers mostly. Ho Chi Minh City is going better though. Given I’ve sweat most of my bodily fluids today I didn’t think it wise to rehydrate with one of the strongest beers in Vietnam though.

Brussels Beer Project have announced they're stopping sales outside Europe as they don't think sending beer around the world fits their vision of their impact on the environment. Only 17% of their beer is sold outside Belgium anyway so it's not a huge shift but it's an interesting announcement (this also includes their own taproom in Japan BTW)

Ah I liked their shinjuku taproom :'(

I don't think I've seen there stuff anywhere overseas but that's a neat idea.

The law of unintended consequences in all its glory: stop exporting beer to reduce carbon footprint, results in Hippy flying to Belgium every weekend to consume said beer and basically spunking carbon like an inhabitant of the fashion thread...

I like my beer but even I'm not that lunatic. I did drive to Belgium this year for a bike race and then brought a load of beer back though. That was cool. I'd been talking about doing that for 15 years though and it took a bloody bike race to actually pull a finger out.

I like the idea of keeping beer local, aside from the environmental considerations, to maintain the character of regions.
Like a McDonald's in Bangkok, I was disappointed to move to Bristol and the first pub I saw was Greene King.
Keep beer local!

I did similar, if you substituted race for pootle and beer for wine. 15 bottles in my panniers made the ride from the station pretty spicy...

Heh. I thought I didn't have any room in my panniers on the way back from Ypres, but as I was passing Westvleteren, I suddenly found space for a couple of 6-bottle crates. Amazing what they can hold.

That’s a great place. I went to the one in Hà Nội about three years ago, their Cyclo Stout is amazing.

I am generally ok with northern monk, but this shit is unacceptable
Obviously at 6.2% I am going to choke it down, but it is abhorrent
