I'vge just noticed that I've got a fucking wedding the next fucking day. I can't do it this year (again). How is it that all the rides I want to do are somehow intertwined with things I cannot for love nor money get myself out of.

Anyone think they'll change it to the week after?

last year was a nightmare. if memory serves correctly we got back at 5:30 ish due to general lateness and our coach getting lost in london

Probably worth making sure your bike's the last into (and therefore first out of) the van from Dunwich then. But I'm sure you'll have thought of that.

there must be an easier way to identify people than a spokecard that's turning around in a wheel.. Perhaps a coloured arm-band or something?

I was presuming that while waiting for people that the wheel would be unlikely to be spinning. This is usually the case when my bike is stationary.

Well my main concern was when we were riding and not recognising people at the meet. Everyone will split up as we're all different speeds and I'd like to know if there's someone from the forum in the little group I fall into along the way.

I can't understand why a cyclist would be getting their ass tattooed.

that's besides the point.. you're not supposed to sweat a great deal after getting a tattoo allowing it to settle into the sub-dermal layer... the festivals have taken more time away from me though

The meetups have always been easy. Look for the 20-30 fixed riders hanging around in a bunch just down from the pub.

Food.. you don't want my suggestions. Child of the techno food.

this will only happen if you:
don't eat little and often as you ride.
go to fast at the beginning of the ride
don't drink enough if it's hot
stop for too many pints on the way.

it's like a normal ride only at a slower pace and for longer than normal.

I reckon you should ride there fixed with your road bike on your back and then swap bikes and ride back.

I'm really dithering about this ride. Brighton ride Sat night was really fun, but not sure if I can do 120 miles.

there are less hills mattty and you can go whatever pace you'd like. You can do it.
