Resluts?!
Marky, thank you for reminding me of the Spaghetti tumble, I think the debonair winning point over the motorbikers was him lying on the floor in a foetal position for about five minutes before casually getting up and ordering coffee.

And the way none of us could be bothered to check if he was OK as he lay there....

Great evening - topped off by spaghetti hoops eating tarmac in front of a bunch of suitably amused bikers outside Bar Italia. He shouted "at least I can drink and ride my bike" at them, something he had just proved to be be a false claim....
I was there to witness too! Really needed that post roller race pizza before riding home. Markyboy, I've read some of your posts and enjoyed them. I'm sorry I didn't make more of an effort to find out who everyone was. :-( Greeting fail.

Yes, I had to exercise greater self-control than I normally manage not to attempt a smash and grab on that pizza. I was the one on the (upright) red Dave Quinn - maybe catch you at the next one and say hello?

Or the one that said "hold on a minute..." whilst licking his lips and looking longingly at the pizza :P
As soon as Mark alerted my attention though, I must admit I became quite jealous too!

Wow, those times were slower than usual. If I had done my pb I would have qualified and if I had repeated it I would have gone through to the semis, on to the final and then been runner up. As it was, I was really disappointed with my time but, in retrospect 27 out of 42 is not bad at all.
If it were not for Caspar's age, I would be suggesting a vets category. Perhaps we need a super vet category or a fatboy category. I could clean up.
The four man rig seems slower than the two man rig, which itself was slow.

weird how the championship rig seemed slower, maybe atmospheric conditions? but it must be noted Ian Holt became only the 11th person to go ounder 20 seconds.
Yes the four up rig is slower, it's a different design, the primary factor (we think) is the smaller rollers.

For the four-up rig, it seemed to be about 2-3 seconds per rider, didn't it?
Was the two-up rig a different one from the one you use normally? If so, were times on it slower, too?

so, when's the next one? ;)

The championship is the two up rig we normally use and the one all the records are set on....

I think I've recuited another two of my customers to enter the next one to add to the already very competitive womens even.

Yes, I thought that was the same one--why did people think it was slower? The times seemed quite normal to me.

not really, at the last league event you needed to go under 21.5 to qualify at Kingspin 22.45 was OK, so yes slower times, but possibly different demographic of riders....actually most likely explanation.
couple of write-ups on other sites:

You do induce an immediate instinctive adrenalin surge in others to just get away from you, I'll give you that. It works on stationary bikes, too, because the adrenaline makes you too stupid to realise that you're not getting anywhere. The cold turkey afterwards is soul-destroying.
I'll shout at you encouragingly the next time around. I have a soporific effect, though, in case you hadn't noticed.

You mean I'll go even slower than 25? Wicked. DFL is in the bag baby!

Cheers to all the riders for good entertainment, the record changers, the Rollas team especially to Winston for the refund on my girly's ticket... money's too tight mention.
