Edit: quick Googling shows that it will use hollowtech 2 Bb.
Yup! it look so much better, and honestly, I think it gonna sell like hot cake on the entry level road bike;

Anybody have an idea where I can get a DA9000 groupset for a fair price?
Have been looking around and stock seems to be depleted. -
• #5855
Anywhere which offers well priced Di2 upgrade kits? I.e. no cranks/brakes.
-
• #5857
Is a braze on fd plus clamp on adapter the same as a clamp on fd?
I'm looking for a 6800 groupset but can't find any where a clamp on fd is an option.

Can I get the DA discs and funky Y-cable handlebar charging yet?
-
• #5860
You don't need the Y-Cable
Just link the two shifters with one cable, then take a cable from the left shifter (or the right - I say left as my handlebar-end junction is on the left) and link it to the junction.
I can only see the Y-cable making cabling a lot harder/more awkward and it's an unnecessary expense.
The only problem I'm having right now is that there are no bloody bastard decent handlebars with proper internal routing. I reckon I've bought (and returned) every pair currently available apart from the Deda SuperZero, which the internal cable routing is bloody awesome in - shame they look like a turdey boomerang.

You suggesting he is bi(ke)-curious?

• #5862
Which bars have you tried and what was wrong with each?
-
• #5863
All of them
3T Carbon (various types) - won't even take 3nm at the clamp without crushing (recommended to 5nm)
All of the new PRO Vibe (none of them are actually designed for internal cable routing unless your Di2 is stem/steerer fed and even so there's no access at hood/sti)
Bontrager VR shit Aero things - look more of a pooey boomerang than the SuperZero and weigh more than me
Very welcome for any other suggestions as I'm desperate for a set of Alloy compacts that don't look like a shitty banana but at the moment the SuperZero are the only worthwhile option I've found that will ACTUALLY accommodate internal routing!

Whats wrong with the superzero looks? was gonna get some.
-
• #5865
Interesting. Not had my 3Ts crush at the clamp, slightly over-tightened them too. What stem are you punishing them with?
-
• #5866
I've been using them for about 2 months now - I just hate the whole "Aero" top section.
Annoyingly they're really comfortable, got a great shape bend, are nice and stiff, and have the best routing I've come across.
-
• #5867
Both an Extralite Hyperstem which only torques to 3NM at recommendation and a 3T Arx Pro II which I didn't get past 2NM before the bars crimped. Perhaps I was just unlucky, as I ran a set of Rotundo LTD for an entire summer of up and down mountains in Switzerland without any issues.
-
• #5868
Bummer. Feared that was the case. I enjoy climbing on the tops so I guess I wont buy them.
-
• #5869
I've found 3t things generally get marked up very easily from clamping.
-
• #5870
Climbing on the top section is actually probably the most enjoyable part about them - it's just enough to get your hands round while still having your palms comfortably resting on the flat. I just don't like the look of them.
Form <> Function -
• #5871
Yeah - the last pair of Tornova LTD I had crushed at the sight of a stem, right after I'd spent a good hour routing to perfection.
-
• #5872
I was going to get the PRO bars which were designed for this stuff.
I don't think my R785 levers have two ports so I think the Y-cable is required.
-
• #5873
Yeah they're branded to be designed for this stuff, they're actually fucking rubbish - got both the Vibe and Vibe LTD at mine waiting to be returned if you want to have a look.
Yeah the DA levers have 3 ports I think.
-
• #5874
Yep, I'd need to upgrade the levers so it'd probably be cheaper to do the whole lot. Might just stick with the messy setup I have now until I replace the whole bike.

Can't tell if serious,
