  • 110bcd gives the full range though no? With rings like CT2 .. although shimano has made BCD same with compact and standard their rings are really pricey.

  • Force 22 is all 110bcd now?

  • their rings are really pricey

This is because Ultegra upwards they're hollow, stiff as fck and forged in the fires of Mordor.

  • Right now I ride a 10 speed 11-25 with fully compact front 50/34. I feel slightly under-geared on big descents and also slightly under-geared on long climbs which push over 6% for an extended period. Maybe a compact with 11-26 is the answer and then I can change up to a bigger gearing on the front for racing - I hate cutting or changing chains though.

  • 52/36 x 11-28 then.

[assuming you mean over-geared on climbs]

  • The big ring is the pricey one.

If you get a 52/36. You can still buy a 39 later if you want closer chainrings.

  • 11-28 then, like I said earlier, same as 11-25 but with a Megarange 28t added.

  • Yeah yeah that's the one. Only problem is that merlin et al are only selling the full groupset with either fully compact or fully standard. Guess I'll just have to get a Red semi-compact and accept that.

  • Check Ribble?

  • They appear to only sell full campag or shimano groups.

  • Shoot, thought you're getting Shimano.

  • So if I want

    RS 785 Levers
    Hydraulic Brakes
Ultegra Di2 front and rear D
    Di2 internal battery and cables
    Chainset

Do I need to just buy it all individually? Or is there a groupset out there that I haven't seen?

  • Because the RS6/785 were design as a non-series component, they're sold as a brake/shiftset, only the rotor does not come with it.

  • I think Madison might have some bundles that include them at the moment

  • Just seems like a right faff. And expensive.

  • Wait till you see SRAM.

The S700 is more expensive than the R785.

  • Who want's SRAM!?

  • I do. That's why I have some S700s, the replacement post-recall ones. They're very nice. Even if they are still in the box...

  • .

  • I'm sure one of the online German retailers was offering this, but a quick search doesn't produce anything.

Might be worth a further look.

  • Them or bike-discount.de - but neither seem to be offering it at the moment.

  • Evans list them as available in January for UK

  • Madison said the R685 will be available late December.

There were a handful of bicycles whose release date have been pushed forward for this reason too.

The only exception is SRAM equipped bicycle.
