The Mudclaws are probably overkill - I have x-talon 190s for short x-country stuff at the moment, and I've worn them in slick muddy conditions, with no problem, and they're a pain on road too.
And the Roclites are red.

Why don't you try it. I'm the one lol'ing now..
I believe I do, or at least try to. Most people run like this don't they? What's it got to do with 'Chi'? Ultimately it's about learning to run efficiently.

I wouldn't say most people run Chi. It's a mid-foot style with some similarities to both Pose and Barefoot (Ken Bob-style). Shortened stride, trying to accelerate by leaning forward with bent knees (more bent than typical runners) rather than lengthening the stride.

cos it's running like a chi(cken)

I don't know why it's called Chi and I definitely don't think that most people run this way.

Souths drinks is a great spot to watch runners go by. Don't think I've ever seen anybody running Chi style. Plenty of people running with their head bent so far backwards that they are looking straight up at the sky (maybe it helps increase the flow of air into the nose), still more flopping about asymmetrically as if their hands and feet were weights on the end of strings of differing lengths...

Cos da running hipsters need something to move on from now that everyone is barefoot running...

^ this.
Heel Striking will be all the rage again in 2017.

I, just went for a run. It's still too close to walking to be a real thing, plus there isn't much gear to buy. Seriously though, did 5 laps round The Emirates then came home, but much more bearable than i remember.

Just had a nice one on the beach and boulevard of Vlissingen.

Chi running's been around for ages.
It can basically be summed up as high cadence footfall.
Which, really, isn't that different to barefoot. -

My Roclites have a little too thick a sole, and a little too much cushioning. I like the look of those lower lighter ones.
My Roclite GTXs are red though.

My barefoot running technique is based purely around a fear of my knees exploding. I land mostly on the balls of my feet, and push off with less of a foot roll. My cadense increased for a given speed as a result of this.
But I'm of the mind that, unless I feel a problem, and so long as I'm dealing with the impact part, I'll just let my legs decide.

I've done more running in the last three weeks than at any time in my adult life, and just ran my fastest 10k of 46:56. I'm buzzing now.

Wel done, that's a very good time!

Discovered this morning that it's when you try to go faster that 5,000 feet make a difference.
We'll done T-V, that's fast.

Cracking time. Wouldn't mind beating that in a month or two

Uploaded to Strava and it gave me 10.3 km, with 10km time of 45:29. Measured on Google Maps, that seems about right. Very pleased with that. It was perfect conditions (still and flat), so not sure I could beat it easily.

First club "interval" session of the year, not sure what the coach has been smoking over Christmas, but the rests between intervals were burpees, and the intervals were up and down the same hill...

What are burpees? Google tells me they are some kind of squatting exercise, but I assume you weren't doing that, were you?

was up at 5am this morning, in the office by 7am, left about 7.40pm. finally got out for my run at 9pm, ran round the little loop I planned out in the nearby industrial estate, but turns out there's about 10 caravans parked up on that road with people living in them, was expecting to be shouted at for going past repeatedly slapping my feet like an excited seal but thankfully I only saw one occupant stretching his legs.
Intervals were 12x 400m with 400m recovery @ 7:20 min/mile. struggled on one or two for a few seconds and the pace dropped so i had to dig in to get it back up again but managed to stick to it pretty well overall and pulled a 6:00 min/mile 400m for the last one.
cooldown jog was an absolute crawl back home, watch told me I finished my cooldown about 80 yards from the end of my road and I pretty much staggered the rest like some drunken idiot.
Feels so good to be going out and pushing myself again, the last few weeks of slow runs have been good but you just dont get that runners high you get after going out and just going for it.
rounded out my 6th consecutive day of training perfectly, don't think I could have run another mile tbh. will gladly take tomorrow as a well earned rest day now.
oh and also finished this months strava 100km prove it challenge which was nice :)

Mixing up miles and meters confuses me.. But I take it you had enjoyable training :)
Great job as well, coming in at 7 and leaving at 7:40! -

Weak google-fu you display. Burpees are a cross between a squat-thrust and a star jump (well, not everybody jumps but it's always a return to fully upright stance). Why do you assume he wasn't, when he says he was? Burpees are popular in high-intensity workouts; you can often see BMF trainers putting their groups through them in London's parks.
The mudclaws are pretty uncomfortable on anything hard IMHO.
Similar sole to the O-rocs. I currently have both O-rocs and Roclites (the goretex ones), and I find myself grabbing the Roclites whenever possible. Had to use the O-rocs yesterday, and while they where fecking awsome on the snow covered trail. The 3 km of cleared path to get there was punishing.
(I should HTFU of course)
