Felt fine at the end and don't feel sore or anything today, no injuries or anything! Nice to feel some progress
This is my sole goal with current hobbyjogging.

Try sticking to Zone 2 or just breathing only through the nose. It will slow you down a lot but you can go much longer distances without too much of a hangover.

Month 14 of broken ankle recovery.
I've been doing maybe 20 miles a week, 3 or 4 runs.
Now my ankle really hurts even walking.
Ho hum
I smashed out a sub 24 min parkrun the other week though. And 24.40 just gone without really trying that hard.
I wonder if this is as good as it'll get -

I did Barcelona half the weekend before and have developed a taste for running in the Spanish February sunshine.

High Cup Nick fell race today. Just coming out of a bit of a nasty cold and thought I might get away with it: which was categorically the wrong decision.
I felt absolutely awful the whole way round, really struggled, and generally just had a bad time. Definitely a different world to 2 weeks ago, when I raced in the lakes and managed to pull a half decent performance out of the bag.
Just getting home now and I’m just simply broken. And no I’m hoping so I won’t have brought the cold back with a vengeance tomorrow and the week that follows.Eugh

At least the weather was glorious, we went out yesterday around Marsden and it was horrific at times.

I would have had a beyond terrible day in bad weather. I can’t even entertain the thought. Genuinely broken right now, lol

Always thumbs up and smile for the camera.
I didn’t mind the climb, but the long but not quite steep enough descent almost broke me. Would have been flying on a good day, but it was torture on Saturday. Hopefully I’ll be feeling better for Ilkley Moor on Sunday - which is a bit more in my wheelhouse anyway. Some steep enough descents to actually make progress with the application of sufficient reckless abandon. -

In NYC for the week and staying in midtown. Looking forward to some Central Park loops!

Tentatively looking at doing a trail Marathon/50K or thereabouts later this year. Any suggestions for races and events from Late September onwards?
Would be looking to just log the distance with the benefit of feed zones, some routing.. Did the outeredge Pagan trails half on Dartmoor in Jan. Kinda low key format was good. Decided to race it after the first third. -

Gritstone Grind if you can get a spot on resale, Beyond Marathon Events FB page worth a follow.

A few to keep in mind for following years, thanks. Theme of the apocalypse ultra is right up my alley.

Any thoughts on whether a good treadmill is worth the investment? Obviously prefer to run outside, but baby 2 arriving imminently, and we have just had a 3.5m x 3m shed landed in the back garden I intend to use 50% of as a home gym setup to get stuff out of the house and remove the need to set up and break down kit after each session (bike permanently on turbo, selection of kettlebells, resistance bands etc).
Missus is bought into the idea of being able to sneak in a brisk walk between naps, when it’s dark or miserable outside, and I’m trying to cling onto the massive fitness gains I saw off the back of a marathon block last year.
But €2500 for a Nordic track 1750 is a lot of money…

This is going to be a big improvement for zwift run experience, pretty interesting but ££££! Hopefully it means more development and focus on the run side of Zwift though and growth in numbers as it is pretty lonely at the moment!

Are you going to have the headroom in the shed for a treadmill, especially with incline???
Hard to say whether you will get the use out of it, I have one, and as a single parent is my only option for an early or late run but I prefer the turbo over the treadmill in most cases.
I have started doing a zwift half marathon training plan to force myself to do some more structured workouts as just doing distance on it is pretty dull given it doesn't have the same interactions, variety or rewards that the cycling side of zwift has.

And now I want one.
Not sure where I'll put it, but I still want it.
How much though...
