Has anyones used the Decathon Evadict hydration pack? I was planning on getting the Kalenji one but that is sold out now.

I've got the 15l version, it's good. Doesn't chafe, plenty of storage, plenty of pockets. Might lack some design features of a bag costing 3 times as much but decent and not bank breaking.

Excellent. Thanks for that.

I'm on holiday at the moment, and went for a run today. On my way back, I saw a man running wearing a shirt, smart trousers and shoes. I passed him three times in total over three miles, the final time he was walking, not a bit sweaty.
How is that possible?

I don’t run as much as some people on here but have run pretty regularly for the last five years. I’m taking 5 weeks off completely to try and let my calf heal and it feels pretty strange!

Have a look at Harrier packs. Well reviewed, British company and cheap.

As my runs get longer, but not right now, I’ve considered getting some minimalistic army webbing with a couple of pockets for drinks, phone etc etc.

London Marathon just 8 weeks away now so I've hit a block of training where my tempo runs get longer; anything over 10 miles @ anything approximating target pace is a good work-out, and I'm aiming to get these up to ~15 miles. Very pleased with today's 10 miles @ 5:36/m in wet, breezy conditions. (Sub-2:30 target = 5:43/m.) Relatively comfortable so I'm confident about adding a few miles on over the coming weeks.
What was most pleasing is running strong off some very erratic sleep patterns. I became a dad a couple of weeks ago. :-) :-) :-) Remains to be seen whether I'm gonna crash and burn horrendously at some point but at the moment I'm getting by on a heady mix of parental joy and a nagging sensation akin to jet lag.

Any recommendations on waterproof running jackets? Ones that are at least usable without getting to hot inside?
Normally I'd just suck it up and keep wet, but doing longer runs and want to avoid getting chilly etc in the wind up on the downs etc.

Congratulations!
I'm seriously impressed you've managed to continue training. I went out for a bike ride about two weeks after my eldest was born, and managed to ride into a parked car.

I generally wear two layers if it’s really wet and that’s it.
I don’t think there’s a jacket breathable enough to cope with running…unless there’s been some recent breakthrough.
Do they make running Gabba tops?

I went out today in a Rapha Lightweight Shadow Jacket (which they don't actually make any more so is a poor recommendation) which is usually great in a sustained downpour as its more breathable than most.
However it stopped two minutes after I left the house and I wondered if a waterproof gilet might be a more versatile layer for warm but wet weather...

Park run., must say I've missed it. The ups and downs of Brockwell Park are ace. Still off pace but hopefully getting there.
Would have been drier in the Lido today! -

Ran a half marathon in a gore tex shakedry in pissing rain and about 10 degrees, so not cold, and didn't overheat much. Hood up too.

I normally eat fairly healthy and my running experience is very unenjoyable. Last night Chinese takeaway, Guinness best run ever this morning. In the quickest time yet

I’ll happily take part in this study

In other news - I’ve been running in this for a year now - lightweight, nicely adjustable and seems to be holding up to regular machine washing.

I've a cheap as chips decathlon gilet that I wear if its cold'ish rain. Its not actually waterproof, but the second layer is sufficient for showers and warmth - especially when warming up
Not sure I'd want anything more than for normal running - different game if you're in hills and mountains and stuff though

Hill waterproofs are most important for if you have to stop unexpectedly. Staying dry & warm is crucial.
Fwiw: My Montane one is ok for moving about in. I had heard good things about OMM kamleika too.

If you’re interested in an ultimate direction Scott Jurek vest/ pack I have one to sell when I’m back from Spain in 2 weeks?

Thanks all. I think I'm going to go for a lightweight gillet for carrying then just to keep a bit of warmth and get something like the ArcTerx incendo hoody for longer runs with the changes for unexpected stops etc.

What running watches can people recommend these days? I want one that will sync to my phone for strava, maybe do heart rate, and ideally have basic navigation for on bike or running.
Is it just the usual suunto, Garmin etc?
I’ve no interest in it giving me texts, emails etc! -
• #26175
Garmin have always seemed to do the trick for me.. their own software is not great but for what you’re after I’d guess the forerunner series would have you covered. I’ve never found anything particularly good from a navigational perspective but I could get lost on a straight road
