April 12th can't come soon enough

Glad your enjoying them đź‘ŤI noticed the lack of trail under foot feel too initially but find they really look after my feet especially on longer runs and now find switching back to my low pro Altras hard work. Same with my road shoes once you get used to the bounce i don't want to run in anything else anymore.

I did exactly the same. I had ITB issues on my right leg caused by a weak/inactive glute that caused instability when tired. So did a couple of months of strength and stability every other day whilst running regularly still but not hard and it solved the problem. Now just do band work 2x a week to maintain and I've had zero niggles for over a year and I've just finished the pretty tough elite 10k plan injury free.

For sure - access to a gym really helps.

Last “long” run done, with 10k easy and 10k marathon pace done and dusted, unsurprisingly felt pretty comfortable despite a hilly route and no hyper shoes,
weather forecast is looking a bit meh for next Saturday with 10 degrees and 10mph winds, which in a socially distanced race could make it a bit of struggle into the wind, temp should be good though!
weirdly looking forward to a trip to dorney lake as it’s been shut for about 6 weeks abs have missed running round it!

Nice effort! Fingers crossed for the wind, I don't think I'd fancy a Dorney marathon if it gets much into double figures. (Mixed memories of a duathlon there many years ago.)
I'm beginning to get mildly excited about racing again. There's a good chance the next race I enter will be the North Downs Run (30k) in June (incorporating British Masters' multi-terrain championships). Not sure if it's COVID related but they've just announced a new route starting/finishing at the Gravesend Cyclopark, but using most of the old course so should still be a nice scenic and hilly race.

Before I stick it on eBay, anyone interested in a Montane Fang 5 Running Vest, M/L size. pretty good condition, but I did lose the chest retainer strap and could only replace it with the purple one.
Never really got on with it, much prefer using a waist pack.
Say, ÂŁ35 posted?

I'd like to get out of London for a trail run this coming weekend.
Thinking as technical as possible, 20km ish with plenty of climbing and views across the land.
Can anyone suggest a nice route along the South or Kent downs?

I'm on the south downs near Brighton.
Plenty of climbing and views. Not a lot of technical except for possibly the woods eastbound into Jevington but then you lose the views. Are you doing out and back or point to point and getting picked up at the end? -

Off for Mara 3/12 in a few minutes. Picked nice weather for it, this month has been very busy at work and haven't got out as much as I would like, so will be interesting to see how I get on!

I bonked on my last training session running up a hill into a headwind, always good to have a niggling doubt in the back of your mind to inspire confidence.

Only two weeks after SDW100 if that ever goes ahead! Seems like déjà vu for me! Anyway only open to those with a place on Nov edition to transfer to start with, so doubt it will open for general sales... Plenty will come up for sale on FB still though.

Got an email about that... Tempted to plan a route from Meriden to Avebury.
I made one of those stick things myself by using plumbing parts - I think this is how I did it

Don't use it on naked hairy legs unless you fancy some bald stripes
