Urgh I have so much I want to say about the "fatties" comment but I think I'm conflating it with my own issues and experience (I'm nearly 20cm taller than the average woman here, so I feel like a whale the entire time, and even more so when it comes to running) so I've just deleted everything I wrote and will go and make myself a calorie-free hot beverage.

Yes. That's out of place and inappropriate.

It's a list that I'm very firmly on.

I'm gonna hold off until at least next payday but thank you!

Very.
I agree the format is ace and it is a shame the racing isn't able to go ahead for the time being. They've not done their brand much good though, although there is the theory that (almost) any publicity is good.
They have deleted posts overnight. This was up briefly, but could well have been referring to a fictitious person and is now gone too.

Good fun this eve, ta for joining me. I definitely won't mention the spiky treestump near miss on here, no way.

Thanks for having me! That thing is going to haunt me. I've thought of taking my hacksaw to it multiple times since then already

I've been thinking the same, if only for the safety of the mtb'ers who are riding that section too.

Can someone explain strides to me? I’ve been reading more and more about people finish slow runs with strides but I don’t really understand what they are.

Short distance, not quite sprints

John Kelly has slowed massively. The 120hr target is well gone. Either the conditions have been horrendous or he has run out of energy. Probably both tbh.
Huge & impressive effort though

Finally got around to picking this up and wore it on a windy run this morning. Perfect fit and really comfortable (even with a load of stitches in the back of my head!)
Thanks for the recommendation!

Looks like it is getting painful. Hope he manages to finish.
I wonder if he should have attempted the Ramsay, the most difficult, first.

This has been discussed (elsewhere), he apparently said he wanted to make use of typical prevailing winds on the bike legs.

This race happened today. Apparently there were some surprise performances. Results not released yet though. 25km with 3km of up and 3km of down. Mostly not on trails.

The ultratraks insta feed is worth a look to get an idea of the terrain.

There's plenty of live athletics tonight if you want to watch on either Facebook or Instagram (@teamprojectrun) - 5k races in Milton Keynes and the Bromley invitational.

Hello there.
I have put on weight over the last 2 months. Not been running. Drinking instead.
Need some new shoes at this stage. Have had Adidas Boost for the last two. Recommendations? Not overly concerned at the cost because since lockdown I seem to have more money in my pocket.
Thank you

JK finished with a 34hr RR which all things considered is pretty impressive. I wonder if he'll mull over the 120hr target and the challenging weather past couple days and be back again in 2021.

Do you mean those vaporfly ones? I thought they were next to impossible to purchase these days.
