I'm doing ok, halfway through day 10. I've done 109km so far so I'm massively behind - fucking up the race last week messed up the plan and it's hard to fit in long runs during the week (I really wish I'd done this when I was working from home, I am SO FUCKING SICK of running with a laptop in a rucksack). I'm struggling for motivation in general, not really eating properly and sleeping really badly (those things are all ongoing, connected issues) but the thing that's destroying me is the weather... Today is "not humid" and it's 78% humidity. At night it gets down to 25 degrees. I simply cannot drink enough to replace how much I'm sweating, also I'm grossing people out by wringing out my shirt at traffic lights. Hmm so maybe I'm not doing so ok. This weekend I have a 2 hour flight and 11 hour train journey, but will spend some time in a city even fucking hotter than here, so let's see how much running I get done.

13 minute PB is top stuff!

I was supposed to get up early and do 15km before work and then 6km at lunch. I woke up, opened my spreadsheet and changed the numbers so I have to go and do 16km now.
I can imagine the heat and humidity is not fun, I remember running when I was last in HK and yeah sweaty is the optimal word!

Really interested to see how they will manage the influx of hundreds of people into a single space. Assume booking slots? I think I’m going to avoid whilst the weather is still so (comparatively good...

^^ Quite extraordinary.
I've just spent a few fun minutes on my training log, to work out that last night's run was my best ever tempo run: 8 miles total incl. 5 miles @ 5:24/m, on grass. 27 minutes dead, which was a bit quicker than a 5 mile virtual-race time trial on the road, a few weeks ago. I think while I'm in the mood for virtual racing I might have another go on a faster route than grassy laps of Charlton Park, to see if I can beat my actual 5 mile PB of 26:45. I miss proper racing now!

Looks like Sabrina might be dropping fof the pace.

Sabrina
I think the overall record attempt may be finished, she'll be 6hrs down on her schedule when she reaches Binsey. This is pretty much all her leeway to beat the record gone. She'll set a very high bar still unless things go badly wrong. Impressive.

I think the overall record is long gone. It will still be a great effort to complete it.

What is the event? Bob Graham round?

She's moving to her scheduled splits still, just that she's 7hrs down on the plan. Fantastic achievement anyway.

Ah - thanks

Totally. Absolutely amazing.

It's all downhill now pretty much. Must be so hard mentally (as well as physically still) having planned to finish at 2am and to be still going 16hrs later.

Up in the first 9 hours but there is a long long way to go.
This dot watching is making me want to try going up the distances a bit. But i think it is probably best to go up the distances in the countryside as anything over 10k on the roads can be pretty dull. So, BGR next summer...
