I got a cheap pair of NB Vazee which actually had a lovely upper but cushioning was gone after 3 runs in Albania with work.
I then got 1080s v2 I’m sure as they were the “upgraded” upper was terrible and not for me at all.
Now got Saucony Hurricane ISO which are god awful.

Also the Sauconys were advised by an “expert”

About to start my 5K2C programme.
-
• #21931
One run a day - make the most of it!
-
• #21932
what's 5K2C?
-
• #21933
It’s like couch to 5km.
But you start by being fit and healthy and slowly morph into a fat lazy slob?
-
• #21934
I have been doing 5k2c for years.
Highly recommended

I'm only recently back to 5k after breaking my ankle so going back down 2C will be easier.

Are they going to monitor Strava? If I leave my Garmin off in the morning can I sneak in a cheeky double?
Actually I've decided to get some indoor exercise in by way of random core stuff, press-ups, lunges, etc. I'm sure I used to be able to manage 50 press-ups in one go. Down to about 25 now so looking to get that up again. :) So run one a day is doing me nicely at the moment. -

There is bound to be someone who will Strava shame you

We’re a family of 5 who all run (some better than others) - should we be running together, in our hour window, or separately. Feels like pairing-up the best bet

With, what seems like, more people out running than before, I have an etiquette question.
Do you run on the left, or the right, of paths?
([Edit - I don't mean footways on roads)
And always give way to less manouverable / slower path users?
-
• #21943
Same as what side of road you drive on.
Unless vulnerable runner, child or old, then I say you go roadside.

If you're going quicker than 7m/m you're allowed to hurdle small dogs.
5 miles @ lunchtime in the park. Glorious weather, quite busy but didn't see more than two people out together, presumably all from the same household. Well done peeps!
Most risky thing I'm doing today is giving blood this afternoon. Officially comes under necessary medicinal/helping the vulnerable, and I'm pretty sure they'll have given the free tea and biccies an extra wipe down.

How hard are intervals running!
Forgot they stuck worse than cycling.

Ask your hamstrings tomorrow. :)
A Zen-like 10-miler this evening. People are definitely getting the hang of this staying at home lark; add to that hardly a breath of wind and a lovely sunset in a clear sky. If this is Armageddon it feels quite nice.

Anyone else getting fed up with dogs jumping up at them, especially in this time of social distancing etc?
I'm ok with dogs, I stop running and stand still if they approach but still regularly get them jumping up at me "playing". Getting a bit fed up with it tbh. -

My favourite was
“Oh he’s friendly”
I got in the habit of replying “I’m fucking not” people usually get there dogs then.
Zero dog issues here so far. Big fan.

I only run with my dog on lead, and always get interupted by other peoples dogs running over wanting to play/say hello - it's deeply annoying. We always get the "oh he's friendly" I'm like "mine fucking isn't" - which seems to do the trick!
Ive been using Hoka Speedgoat mids for a couple years - after suffering from knee pain from landing on outside of foot first. Which phsyio says is to do with my hip flexors and lack of flexibililty. Causes my knee caps to rub on the fat underneath - which she called "fatty agitation" lol.
I have the Salmon speedcross 4 too, they are awsome but only for very muddy conditions, they are so stiff (almost like cycling shoe) that any hard terrain is brutal to run on. Zero cushioning! And actually the stiffness causes me a bit of tendon pain in foot, but the grip is next level in mud! I've got the waterproof ones and i've never so much as fel a drip through them.
the reality is that if you have trouble with your shoes you need to go to a specialist and try on shoes, I did it, and it changed running for me. Dont do an internet shoe fit - unlikely it will make it better for you. just my 2c.
