Unless you ran it backwards.

maybe it's across the mouth of an active volcano and then down the side before the lava gets you.

Ace - thanks ... I’m going to give this a go... i’ll report back provided I don’t get shelled-out backwards through the gym.

I know there's one in the US (Mt. Charleston maybe?) which isn't record eligible but I think is a Boston qualifier.

Haha, I think I’d need a bit more help than that (Saturday’s course descended 2400 ft in 2.5 miles). But just for curiosity’s sake, which marathon was it? ;)

I don’t envy anyone on the nav leg in those conditions! 40 something overall is great. Can’t quite remember how our men’s a team did - similar I think.
Which club do you run for?I really enjoyed it, reminded me how much I love running in the lakes. Tour of Pendle in a month, might see if I can muster the mileage to give it a shot.

Parkrun on Saturday, recovery run on Sunday, rest on Monday and 10k today - and I'm still behind where I should be. I went quite hard on Saturday, but should it still be having an impact today?

I haven't ran for 10 days now. Knees are still sore after the Half Marathon.
Went to see a physio a few days ago and got some acupuncture, a massage, and some stretches and exercises to do.
Frustrating.

Have a couple of days off.

I can do a sub 2-hr half marathon in February, right?
-
• #19289
Sub 2? Totally.

Folks, i currently running parkrun every other week acclimatising to running again after shin pain and all seems to be well. However I am aware i tend to lose motivation without anything to aim at. A Half marathon next september is doable from parkruns at about 35 mins right?

I found this interesting, I’m not sure if anything Andy did was radical, but it clearly worked for him;

Cracking run the other morning. Caught a bus out to West Linton, just south of Edinburgh, followed a section of the Old Drove Road to Peebles, and caught a bus back up to Edinburgh from Peebles.
It's a nice distance of 21km and a max elevation of 500m. I wasn't going for pace as although sign posted, some parts still had to be navigated. This involved dodging moody live stock.
Great trail though. Great mix of single track, pine forest, open rolling hills, a small amount of country road and farm tracks. Would definitely do it again.
If any one is ever up in Edinburgh and fancies doing it, I'd recommend.

Nice article, odd seeing him mention Alex van Oostrum though who is a mate of mine (formerly of Run Dem).

sub 2 half marathon is probably the equivalent of a 2:30 50 mile tt in hardness terms, so i'd say yes...
-
• #19296
Don't think I could do a 2.30 50 at the moment! What's a 2 hour 50, sub 1.40?
-
• #19297
Absolutely.

Tring - the only southern club who ventures north for Hodgson Bros and FRAs.
-
• #19299
I'd probably say 1:35-1:40.
My 25 pb is 56:something and HM pb 1:35.

56:something is not a recognised time, it is either a short 56 or a long 56.

Which marathon is that? It can't be record eligible?
