Lots of time savings through more efficient faffing then ;)
i think on the flat thames path I wont redline my HR so much so planning on trying to stick to 12min/mile 5mph for first 20k (checkpoint 1) then walk run next 10k to try and maintain about 13:30min/mile avg for next 10, then power walk final 16k and try to keep it as close to 15:00min/mile as poss running where I feel capable.
Sounds like a sensible plan, especially as flat means no pushing the hr in the early stages. Enjoy!

oh and my flipping hydration bladder split at the bottom seam (came unglued by looks of it) so also had to stop and unpack my vest to get it out while it pissed a litre and a half of water all over me about 3 miles into the race. not gonna lie though was quite refreshing and luckily i doubled down and had 2 500ml softflasks with me but it did mean being a bit more careful with my water consumption between checkpoints.

Something I can certainly sympathise with, I'm sure the man was on track for a PB...

i've looked through around 60 pages of segment records on Strava to see if i could locate the villain. Yes, it is a slow day in the office.
i haven't found him yet. I have given up

@doubleodavey did you see the bit about it happening on 5th may? just making sure you're not scouring the latest uploads.

I did it for the Kudos!
What a quandary: lie low from the feds or rack up the Strava achievements

yep - i found a putney bridge segment.
i narrowed it down by choosing male
further narrowed it down by selecting this yearif anyone wants to carry on my work, i didn't him on the first 56 pages, or the last 4. his activity may well be hiding in pages 57 and 102.
i think average pace was around 7 min / mile on page 56. if i were to guess, I'd say he was in the 8s or 9s in the video

I would guess the second it hit the news he deleted the upload if it was on there.

rack up the achievements ftw

Maybe he could come and clear a path for me over waterloo or blackfriars

Well done HB, that sounds rather epic.

And the only one that doubles back over the bridge does so 21 minutes later, not 15 minutes later, and is on the other side of the bridge (the dedicated bus lane is on the East side of the bridge).

5 mile pb last night at 35.00, only went out for a steady run as my hamstring had been sore after a big run last week but when I saw my pace I thought I'd just see how I got on. Not a flat course (although not exactly a fell either), keen to see how much I can chop off.
Definitely think a 20:00 5km on the flat isn't out the question - fastest 5km in the 5 miles was 21.30.I'm sure this is all very interesting.
Xclaws arrived, didn't fit, sent them back. 👍

thanks. Running in Dublin would involve getting there though! I don't tend to visit "home" much any more for various reasons. London = home, now. My Dad did the marathon in 1980, told me good stories about hitting his wall in Clontarf.

Just mapped sundays richmond ultra route for my garmin in Garmin Basecamp, says the distance is 30.9 miles not 28.8. looks like I'll need to shift arse even more to make sure I hit the cutoff now. yay!
