I went for a run with earbuds in the other day- it was an exercise in frustration as they kept bouncing out.
What headphone type things do people use and recommend?
This would be for listening to the radio as I run.

Usually just a pair of cheap ass ear buds (not in-ear type) that I don't mind getting fucked up. Currently Sennheiser's cheapest offering. Never had a problem with them falling out.

I like the design of Sennheiser sports headphones which twist into the eay and grip the folds with a rudbber extenision. I had the previous style with an extending rubber circle, and now have the ones pictured below. You can get standard earbuds, or the sound eliminating plugs. I'd recommend the standard buds for safety, and to save money. I have the plugs though, as I hate the pop music they play at the gym. They come with 3 different sized buds, and 3 different sized rubber fins, to tune the fit. The lead can be shortend by removing the xternal volume control, for wearing on your arm etc.

Tried looping them up over your ears?

Sennheiser PMX 80 i think, they loop around the back of the head and have enough spring to stay in place.
I find that any earbud types tend to slide out once my ears get sweaty, and I'm constantly fiddling with them to try and get them to stay put. -

I want zero fiddle,

this is the answer. works for me anyway.
just had first (short lunchtime) run is nearly three weeks (lethargy, holiday and injury have intervened). not bad,
not bad. headed out dressed for monsoon conditions but it immediately stopped raining and i came back as wet with sweat under my jacket as if i'd gone out in the pouring rain in just a teeshirt.
hey ho. felt pretty good.

I'll try it, but pretty sure that once I get hot and sweaty they'll bounce straight out, and I'll just be trying to grab them bouncing around behind my head.

So I just did 5k in the rain. Came home with my first bloody nipple. An affliction I did not know even existed a few months ago.
It's more like puss with a shade of red to it. Do I get some sort of runner's badge for this?

Only after you've cut the nipple off with kitchen shears

its the added weight of the water in your top thats done this.
I'd use plastes till they've heeled. Then just a dab of vasoline before a wet run.

I'll post a pleasent pic later..... ;)

Yeah, I went with a MTB jersey (my irreverent attitude towards running specific gear [exception for shoes] has been posted before) hoping it wouldn't weigh down as much as a cotton T, as I usually wear (I've got sore nipples once before on a really hot and sweaty day). I think it was too loose. Should have went with the road jersey which, although probably indecent if I were to run by any schools, would probably have rubbed the nipples less.

ran 42.48 at British 10k in London, masively busy (was passing folks walking after 500m wtf?!) and did it on probable broken toe - now v.v.painful. If it wasn't for the mortgage on the entry fee I would've dns'd. Back to club races for a while I reckon..

Chamois cream FTW.
I almost experienced that, well, nipple chaffing while riding 150 miles in one go.
chamois cream save my fucking life.

I had an old runnng partner that did this in a half with me. He was a hard bastard though. I remember wondering how the hell he pulled himself though it.
Rep derserved.

I've use bike grease in the past. It just needs to act as a barrier.
