+1 Amazing day.
-
• #5578
What a day. If Malan had held on I'd say it's in our favour, but right now it's down the middle.

• #5579
Great day was in and out of the days play but england have shown fight, that's all i wanted was some spirit and to at least show Australia they are in a game.
-
• #5580
That last wicket killed it - would've been nice to go into the last day with a little bit of naïve false hope.
-
• #5581
the aussoes are making it as hard as they can for themselves! fucking hell - the follow on decision, not batting for another session, reviews, etc.
the new ball should sort the eng fight back out, but fuck me. this should have been over by now.

Root's conversion rate from 50 to 100 is a bit piss poor and he'll need to do it for there to be any chance. Imagine we'll get to around 310 or so and ultimately fail.
-
• #5583
He'll need a big hundred and some support - Woakes and Overton showed they have some patience and guts. Hoping YJB and Moeen come to the party (as Tony Greig used to say) too!
-
• #5584
Indeed. A YJB and Moeen onslaught at the end of the second session would be ideal.
It's the hope that kills....
-
• #5585
As long as it doesn't come down to 30-odd to win with Broad and Anderson at the crease!
-
• #5586
I'd rather you got there with 7 down than watch either of that pair of cunts hit the winning runs.
Let's not get carried away though.
-
• #5587
but right now it's down the middle.
If you think that then put money on as the bookies are offering 13/5 for an England victory. (Aus 2/7 and a draw at 50/1).

I hear you @BRM! Actually thinking about it, there are some proper stroppy mouthy cunts on both sides (Broad, Anderson, Warner, Smith, Lyon), more than I can remember for a good few series. At least some of it used to be quite funny in the past #rosetintedspectacles.

I am noooooooo a gambling man. If we can just see out that first hour (Starc and Hazlewood were bowling some proper trash) then who knows
Also still laughing at this

170+ runs is a lot of application.
6 misjudgements = Aussie win.
Love to see it, but, unless Root makes the majority of those 170+ runs,
I don't see an England victory. -

Sigh

All over
-
• #5593
I hope that there are lots of you that stayed up/got up to watch this.
-
• #5594
Oh dear.

• #5595
Set alarm for 3am.
Turned it off and went back to sleep.
Woke up at 7.40am.
Good decision.

I hope that there are lots of you that stayed up/got up to watch this.
Makes me yearn for the days colonial subjects knew their place.

Bowling 160kph bouncers off a 60m run up at posh English schoolboys?
You’ll get that next test.
Bring on the Doctor!
-
• #5598
Ok, maybe I’m getting a bit carried away.
-
• #5599
I'm more worried about them pitching it up.
Those three seem the real deal to be fair. I look forward to seeing them bowl in the flesh and getting lashed on overpriced middies next week.

I wish I was still there to join you. Last test at the WACA. I played little league footy there and watched curtly take 7-1 there too. End of an era
Nothing can compare with the suspense and nuance of test cricket. Fact.
