Thank fuck I'm going to Ghent for the 6-day.. :)
The only talking I do at work is swearing at clients or computers anyway. Sometimes I thank people for bringing in cake or getting my lunch but mostly it's the swearing.

Can't deal with watching it any more. Expecting a coronary after every ball. We've batted pathetically do far against some truly powderpuff bowling

good thinking rod munch
cheersCrap start for england... excuses?
first day nerves no doubt -
• #491
Not so much excuses but reasons:
Strauss so keen to dominate these days he often forgets to play himself in.
Lots of batsmen got starts but didn't progress enough.
Too many silly or lazy shots. The first test of a series can often be a funny one, when batsmen forget they are not in a limited overs game and need to occupy the crease.
I've always felt England have had problems with Siddle, when it's his day he produces.
Pitch was probably good for a relatively easy 350, Strauss going early and the Siddle spell cost us 100 runs.
Bowlers need to perform above their best tonight to put any pressure back on Aus.

Not at all. He still managed to get in a diatribe about uncovered pitches before the 10th over was even bowled...
-
• #493
Disappointing to wake up to that. Bit of an old school England batting performance.
Put it down to early nerves, weight of expectation etc. I think there'll be plenty of Aussie collapses to come too.
-
• #494
^ and we need an Aussie collapse so MrSmyth can post "What's that Skippy?", which is when I know the Ashes have really started.
-
• #495
I went to bed a missed a hat trick. Typical.
-
• #496
Not a bad start eh? Should give the lads a bit of confidence after the battering they've had in the home media lately.
