Imagine scoring 556 and losing by an innings.

This is mental. Literally.

Fuck me Pakistan are shit

Only 4 more needed as apparently Abrar is in hospital (I missed this, what happened?)
-
• #16481
Wow - just tuned back in. Bloody hell.

• #16482
They've said earlier that he's sick, didn't realise he'd been hospitalised.
-
• #16483
Honestly I think the pitch makes this an impossibility to win
Any comment on this ?

Blimey.

Imagine scoring 556 and losing by an innings.
In four days...?

Not sure this does test cricket any favours. We need series to be properly competitive. But you can't artificially manufacture a competitive side overnight, I suppose. Gillie has some serious hard work to do here.

Fuck me Pakistan are shit
They've show in the first innings that they're not shit but they don't have the fitness or the mindset for Test cricket atm.

I went out with 1 wicket down.
Imagine scoring 556 and losing by an innings.

Incredible match and now I can claw back some attention on real life!
Must be mixed feelings for Ollie Pope, having a disastrous game as a player, but an historic match as a captain.

(cleans glasses)
Well, what a morning...

Root's innings could realistically be classified as that of an opener, as only 8 balls had been bowled before Ollie Pope was caught.

Imagine becoming England's highest ever run scorer in an innings of over 250 and NOT being the most talked about batsman in your side.
It's staggering.

This a fun short read:

I see the PCB are having a meltdown of all sorts

meltdown
Any more info or source on this?

Well, they've dropped Babar, Shaheen, Naseem, and are set to use the same pitch again.
-
• #16498
I had assumed that the whole mgmt team would have been sacked by now.
Along with a political resignation.
Just shuffling the starting 11 is quite muted by PCB standards!

set to use the same pitch again.
1000+ if Pope can get a score this time.

There was a good section on Radio 5 at some point today about the reasoning behind using the same pitch.
If they used a different strip it's likely to be another road and the only outcome is an England Win or a draw.
By using the same strip again there's a much bigger chance of some turn or uneven bounce that should bring the Pakistani bowlers more luck.
They bat pretty deep, so it shouldn't be over today. But it's a fucking road, so they shouldn't be 4 down already...
