Difference for me was England got over-excited in the first two tests and let that affect their decision making. Carried on with Bazball after that but in a much more measured way - aggressive but not stupid.

Shame about Old Trafford - we had that won without the weather.

I'd rather watch Bazball and win fewer series than purely percentage cricket resulting in winning more series.

Sounds like they might get out there again and potentially get three hours' play in at The Oval. Which puts it on a knife edge, though I'd still have Australia as favourites.

Bazball with a bit of thought could be extremely dangerous. It's definitely made this series closer than it might have been without.

I think England have been the better team over the series as a whole, but they're going to lose the series. The first 2 tests could have gone either way. England won the third rightly and would have won the 4th, but for the rain. I think England had a good chance of winning today also if the rain had held off. Oh well, its great to watch and hope they stick with Bazball.

If they'd got Smith, I'd have agreed with this. But the Aussies were definitely in the stronger position going in to lunch and our bowlers were knackered.
