  • It's all go - but 300 is optimistic now....Need to keep Woakes on strike.

  • Need to keep Woakes on strike.

100%. Need Jimmy in Leach mode.

  • Kaboom. If I was still 10 years old I'd have Woakes on the back of my shirt.

  • Good fun - but time to get amongst them now.

  • Where would we be without Woakes and Wood? (Glances at the first two tests... ah)

  • They'll be fine as long as they get them all out before needing a spinner.

  • Can see a good couple of hours' worth of toil in the field being the fate of England's players now...

  • There's always Root.

  • Yes...amazing that it seems to be the spinners that can't keep their bodies working. Leach, Lyon and now Moeen have all broken themselves going about their business.

Only other injury of note this series is Pope - who genuinely dislocated a shoulder.

  • There's been a lot written about the demise of jimmy but he's bowled well, we just haven't had any swing this series, plenty of seam movement mind, but if he can't get it zipping around in these conditions maybe the jimmy magic is gone. But I don't think so.

  • Is the ball broken? there has been chat about the Dukes not being what is was - but never known a home series with so little lateral movement. Maybe we'll find out now.

  • There's a lot of chatter but no one knows do they, that's the beauty of swing bowling. It's definitely been moving today though.

  • Oooooh. Tough ask to catch that.

  • Foakes would've.......

  • Aussies looking impregnable here...

  • And there's one.

  • Just need to get Labuschagne and Smith out cheaply, again,
and, we might have a chance.

  • ...and Khawaja and Head.

  • and Carey and Green Marsh.

    and Cummings.

  • Throwing grapes at Ponting is brave. Looking forward to developments.

  • Should have played Tongue instead of Anderson - it's a series too far.

  • I'd have said the same yesterday. But he's looking better first thing today. We should learn - don't write off the guy who about a year ago was ranked #1 in the world...

  • This is a very good start with the ball

  • I've got a ticket for Ashes on Sunday on the Lock Balcony which I can no longer make. Cost me £125, would accept £115, if anybody fancies it.
