It's amazing how much players can get off the back off stellar World Cup performances and games against India. Remember Shimron Hetmyer raking in the money after a good ODI series only to then largely do fuck all wherever he went
Cameron Green also going for stupid money despite only playing 16 T20s in his career, but one decent game against India where he opened...

The money in the IPL is ridiculous, and it’s all about illegal gambling. My ex did some promotional work for the IPL some years back and it all seemed to be run by British-based Indians, as all the meetings were held in London. Certainly the early competitions were rigged, as she said they were openly joking about how much money they’d be making when Team X won the title.

So, I've got ballot tickets for the NZ Oval one-dayer in Sept. Anyone know where to sit that is furthest away from the Barmy Army cuntrumpeter?

Generally they're around the Peter May stand or higher numbered JM Finn stands, if you're not bothered around family sections etc 1-5, or the Bedser Stand

Cheers, at £95 a pop, don't want to risk having the whole day spoiled.

Bedser stand is great
I used to like being up with the gods at the top of the OCS. I took my twins to a CC game back in 2019 when it was open, and it was deserted. The boys ran about a bit and I managed to watch a couple of hours before they got bored

In all my time going there I don't think I've ever sat that side of the ground
It's great during the lunch/tea intervals when they allow everyone on the outfield and you see about 10 different games going on with kids who've brought bats and tennis/soft balls

The BBC Today programme in boxing day was edited by Ian Botham and has a big cricket themed thread through.
Worth a listen

Hoping that Rishabh Pant mends well and is not out of the game long, such a brilliant player.

Bit of a punt, but having a clear out trying to get rid of some gear. Anyone after a trolley bag? There's a small zip issue with the main compartment but it does open up, and there's a slight tear in the shoe section, but it's a massive bag that'll take a full kit load. Bought it out of stupidity when my holdall is the better option

Anyone know why are there so few spectators in Pakistan? Apparently it was free entry, but there's still no one there.

Friday being the Islamic holy day, maybe? Don't know, but was amazed at the empty stadia when England toured, given how long they'd been without Test matches.

Oh man
I wonder if there’s much money chat in the Surrey dressing rooms / nets … Curran - nigh on two million … Reece Topley - just under a couple of hundred grand… ?
