When your 'mentor' is managing director of the team you get a few extra go's.

It's a familiar tale.

This is the test match that sends the BazBall advocates back to the drawing board, I reckon. Abject failure.

Glad I'm here today not tomorrow. Not looking terribly positive thus far.

I reckon you'll see the end of England's second innings at this rate.

I wouldn't say Bazball has much to do today's wickets. Crawley's getting out no mater how he plays, Pope got a good one and Root played a poor shot (got to let him have the odd one).
Like it or not we just don't have players atm to play 'proper' test cricket, so they've made the decision to go down having a go rather than the slow death and it might even win them the odd match. I know what I'd rather watch after the last few years.

Tickets for tomorrow. Not looking good...

Yup.

Granted, but I reckon it played a big part in the first innings debacle (alongside excellent bowling from SA as well, admittedly).

Can we make them bat again? That's about as much as we can hope for in this game now. Utterly dismal performance.
-
• #12663
Better to lose by an innings than bowl again with a 20 run lead 😂
-
• #12664
Innit. I'd be chucking my wicket away if I were Leachy or Jimmy.
-
• #12665
Well that's one way to save £360.

Spend it on bike parts...

Well that was shit. First of many days at Lords to not see a full day's play.
Think we should open with Leach and Broad to take the gloss off the new ball before the other come in. Mix it up a bit. -

All part of Strauss' revised masterplan for Test Cricket: 2-day Tests allow England to play a 5-Test series against everybody, every Summer.
Annual World Test Championship.
(Eng will never win it, but our players will have even more Test appearances). -

With the unlikelihood of Day 5 play, Lords could offer a free

4 years ago we were here watching MiniGB's cousin
be soundly thrashed bygain valuable match experience against Surrey as he played for Cambridgeshire U14 boys, and the 8yo MiniGB said that one day she'd like to play here either for Fulham FC or for Surrey CCC, so I took the first photo. It was one of many things that encouraged her to join a local cricket team and get coaching/matches and have fun with a load of friends. Today we ticked off one of her wishes as the second photo shows (the other wish is unlikely to happen but she's still handy with a football).

The Strauss Vaughan procedure.
Successful application deploys an inverse relationship between most recent game and experience.
Batsmen given a bye because class is permanent but form is transient.
Bowlers: 'What have you done for me, lately?'
In fairness, it pretty much applies to Lees too!
