  • Warne was such a genius. A true once in a generation player. You can maybe look at Murali as someone who was as lethal as a bowler but Warne was such a good competitor. He scored loads of important lower order runs - not least in 2005 - and was a great fielder.

    I hope he was happy.

  • Sat on the next table to him having dinner with Mark Nicholas at a Leeds pizza restaurant in approx 2001. He was about as pissed as I was, but only one of us took 5 wickets at Headingley the next day.

He was what every sport needs every so often to stay relevant, a technical genius who is also an instinctive showman and entertainer. RIP

  • Incredible bowler cricketer entertainer. RIP

  • Oh what Rod Marsh too. 😔 RIP.

  • I'm assuming only the West Indians amongst us are confident about tomorrow?

  • Let the twisted and love affair resume today

    But yeah, we're fucked

  • We're batting!
    20-3?

  • … ‘kin ‘ell …. Can’t find any radio commentary …. any clues or am I being stupid …. ?

  • … bollocks , I am being stupid … forgot about talksport …. Oh well , at least it’s better than guerilla cricket ….

  • Talksport

Also if you've got a VPN the West Indies channel on Youtube has the whole thing. Loving it here in the cricketing hotspot of Bolivia

  • Hahahahahahah

  • ... third over ... ! normal service resumed ....

  • fucking hell this team is so gah

  • Great catch by Da Silva.

(He spent a summer here in the UK a few years ago: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/60572009 - wife's family has lots of connections to the club and my daughter players there now.)

  • FFS England.

  • Seales looks like a nice bowler.

RE England, it looks like conditions tailor-made for Jimmy with this much swing. I know there have been recent injuries, but I don't understand the logic of dropping/resting the big two just to play Woakes and Overton. Surely Mahmood should have played if we're looking to the future. Unless the real issue here (as alluded to) is actually team dynamics and the influence of JA and SB in the dressing room, so they want to see how Woakes and Overton perform without them around.

That said, Root losing his off stump isn't helping anything....

  • This never ages.

  • Sigh

  • Still can't believe we wasted so much on Buttler when Foakes has been around

  • I should write a script for it to post after 90mins of every England innings.
That said...300 possible now (no jinx).

  • Odd innings.
20 of the 65 overs bowled so far have been maidens.
The overs Eng have scored off are just above 4 an over.

  • Foakes' departure gives Woakes a chance to nail down that No. 8 position,
and see Bairstow to an 8th Test century,

  • Get in Jonny lad
